THIS JUST IN TO OUR NEWS DESK...

22089 delivered with NJT colors and white back.

Deja vu all over again.

Predicted this months ago. Looks like I was right haha.

Now to see which garage these go to. My bet would be Wayne to replace the 9000s and 7100s.

In my opinion, I say they can go to any Southern Garage for more MCIs. I think Wayne could get the 91-172 new cruisers.

Anyways what's the reason for the Academy buses going to NJT again?

Dave, refresh my memory. How many MCIs are in the 22000 series from start to finish? I thought 22088 would be the highest series number. With this breaking news of yours, I'm wrong

I think its up to 22118 this order is. I believe it was suppose to go up to 22151 with the 33 option order before those were added onto the 2021 order.

They are down now about 5 MCI buses due to accidents: 18023 and 18032, 18014, 18016 and now 18025.

Six total. 18037 as well

I didn't know about 18037.  I think if we get some new 22000s in South Jersey, they should go to EHT and Newton Avenue and send all of the 17Ks to Washington Twp.  At this point, they shouldn't get any newer buses.

EHT needs buses bad. Washington twp as well. Newtons 19000s should go to Wayne. Send the 17000s to newton, they only have 2 full time mci lines. Send some of those 22000s to EHT and twp. We can’t get parts to fix these buses.

Hearing from a reliable source that the 2023 Cruiser allocation of 91 + option buses will be fulfilled by the only bidder, MCI, with D45 CRT diesel models (not the Low Entry). These buses would be assembled at the New Flyer facility in Crookston, Minnesota, the new home of the D series.

VINs for 22901-22908 are 5FYB8FJ1XNB105300 through 5FYB8FJ12NB105307. New Flyer electric was trotted out to the press on Tuesday, and should go into revenue after training is completed in October for drivers, mechanics, and local first responders.

The Courier Post ( Camden Newspaper) stated that (per NJT) 22901 will begin service on 10-24 making debut on the 452.  I am surprised they chose the 452 first.  It runs up and down a lot of raggedy streets.  The 455 and 457 are next after that.  I am surprised they're not choosing the popular Mall routes first (404, 405 and 407).

I'm sure those D45CRT standard floor cruisers are going to Wayne and some possibly to Meadowlands to replace the 9000s and 7100s. Oradell should definitely have all of their 40 foot MCIs replaced by the 22000 white back MCIs and they'll be housed in Oradell garage. Fairview may have their ex-Wayne 9000s replaced by the white backs as well. It's just a guess on my part

Between Washington Twp and Egg Harbor there are 111 18000 series. With the high miles on the 18000s they are going to have to shift those buses to a garage that does less miles. Same with the low 17000s njt took back.

I can see at least 40 18000s going to market steet.

NJT prefers to use the age of bus metric over miles driven. They are focused on replacing oldest bus on the fleet.

Since Oradell split to Westwood, it leaves Oradell room to expand service including adding more buses to the fleet.

The physical limit of 45 footers at Oradell stands at 182 but management wants to stop at 160 for comfort.

Originally, we had 209 40 footers.

They will go to garages that have the oldest buses in the fleet not miles driven.  Take your bets :-)

I know how they do things I’m simply saying it should be miles driven which, that’s how it used to be. Instead now buses are sent to garages and die there.

My money is on the CRTs going to Wayne/Meadowlands/Howell to replace 7100s (both 7101-7118 and 7121-7187) and 9000s, and to southern garages which will displace 18000s (for a mileage switch like @553 Bridgeton said) to Market Street (to finally replace their D4000s), Oradell (to get up to 160 buses as @Gmansports said) and Fairview (to replace their ex-Wayne 9000s).

I did hear a theory that the CRTs will be going to southern garages to replace their 18000s which will then go to Wayne and Market Street. Not sure tho.
