21245 rear end is repaired following the December 2021 fire. The new rear panel is a completely different design with MCI logo in the left upper, similar to the 7100s.

It’s an older panel - possibly harvested from an older MCI, as it has an older MCI logo.

Drove past CMF this morning, and saw a few 18000s sitting outside, as well as some gobus wrapped buses.

Any reason why those 18000s are there?

18000s from Egg Harbor being swapped out for the decamp 17000s. If you saw any low numbered 18000s those are from Washington Twp and need body work. Egg Harbors 18000s are currently at Wayne, Meadowlands, and Oradell.

Can confirm seeing low number 18000s there. Thanks for the clarification!

I'm hearing Rockland Coaches are going to return their 21000s back to NJT. There are like 17 units from 21198-21241 that never saw revenue service for Rockland. There's also a bunch of  19000s from both Rockland and Suburban out of service and a bunch of 17000s from Suburban out of service.

I'm not sure if 21291, 21293, and 21303 are going to return to NJT as those are still with Academy.

Take all of this with a grain of salt though.

I haven't checked the Suburban Transit overflow lot since late 2022 - there were a couple 17000s and 5 19000s there at that time (as well as the fire-damaged 21248). I wonder if anyone here has driven past there recently and got a count of the buses they have there.

Also since the majority of Suburban's 21000s are now back with NJT I wonder what Suburban is operating now - mostly 20000s? I feel some of their 17000s should also be back in service.

21129 is on the 554, weird seeing a 21K on a Washington Twp (Turnersville) route.

That bus broke down and eht fixed it and now running it to hell and back.

And it’s Egg Harbor doing that 554 with 21129.

NJT is going to have to auction off some of these MCI’s. There’s just to many that are sitting or collecting dust.

They won’t do that. If anything garages that never had spares will finally get spares. Newton Av is the only garage that has too many buses, but it allows them keep their miles low.

Egg Harbor needs at least 15 spares, Howell had to give 5 buses to Westwood or Oradell, Washington Twp needs 15-20 spares. So I can see 21198-21276 being thrown to various garages.
