TrainFanInfinity Posted October 2, 2012 Share #2676 Posted October 2, 2012 (edited) Another problem I had made up in my mind. A bombing occured near Main St - Flushing station. Due to this the station has to be closed, and it's rush hour time. Reroute the . No service b/w Mets-Willets Point and Flushing-Main Street. Select trains terminate at Queensboro Plaza, Woodside, or 111 Street. Suspended, use . During this time, there is a free fare at the Q48 bus stop. Quill Depot Posted October 3, 2012 Share #2677 Posted October 3, 2012 (edited) LIRR honors Metrocards on all trains passing through Mets-Willets Point (stopping there) and the station closest to Main Street-Flushing past there. I'd leave this to subway. I think shuttle buses are enough. NEXT: A man has been fried by the third rail at Lex-59, knocking out power for the Broadway/59th Street tube between Queensboro Plaza and 49th Street. This has also knocked out power for Queens Plaza. Reroute the and trains. Edited October 3, 2012 by Quill Depot

Don't always be quick to respond, but think about it a little bit first. NEXT Due to a problem at 145 St , no trains can go up the UWS to 168 St or 207 St . TrainFanInfinity Posted October 3, 2012 Share #2684 Posted October 3, 2012 Due to WTC work, no trains can travel below Cortlandt Street. Figure out how to reroute, try not to use shuttle buses. And also, the switches at Chambers all point to Brooklyn, so trains can't terminate there. And 14 Street and 42 Street are not turning options. Be creative. Via 7th Avenue Express to 34 Street-Penn Station. Via 7th Avenue Local. Select trains run to Rector Street via South Ferry Loop.

Quill Depot Posted October 3, 2012 Share #2688 Posted October 3, 2012 (edited) For the one: trains run to Flatbush Avenue trains run 7tph. to Utica Avenue. Edited October 3, 2012 by Quill Depot
Threxx Posted October 3, 2012 Share #2689 Posted October 3, 2012 If you're going to run trains at 7 TPH, you should send the to New Lots (which also has a better capacity than Flatbush...) My solution: : Trains either terminate at 34th Street or Flatbush Avenue. & : Operate local in Manhattan south of 42nd Street.

Wallyhorse Posted October 4, 2012 Share #2693 Posted October 4, 2012 Due to a problem at 145 St , no trains can go up the UWS to 168 St or 207 St . This is during rush hour, so only the and are allowed to serve Grand Concourse. and both run local between 59th-125th Street and terminate at 125th Street, with VERY LIMITED service continuing to 135th Street. and run express service from 59th-125th Street with as many extra trains as possible. Also, extra service between Dyckman Street and Rector Street (such trains run through the old South Ferry loop and do not stop at SF). Please expect delays since the and are both terminating at 125th Street. Shuttle buses operate 207th Street-125th Street.

Aside from the passengers on those trains having to walk to the neaest emergency exits/stations, here's how I handle this: runs West 4th Street-Coney Island ONLY (select trains operate to 34th Street) runs Euclid Avenue-Chambers Street platform ONLY runs in two sections: Via regular route from 205th Street-42nd Street/6th Avenue Via Broadway Line from 57th Street/7th Avenue-Atlatic Avenue/Barclays Center, then via regular route to Coney Island Special OOS transfer in effect between the two lines at Columbus Circle, 7th Avenue/53rd Street, 42nd Street/6th Avenue on the 6th Avenue Line and 42nd Street/Broadway and 57th Street/7th Avenue on the Broadway Line Extra trains run to 179th Street in addition to normal service to Jamaica Center. runs in three parts on a rotating basis: One-third of trains operate 179th Street to 42nd Street One-third of trains operate West 4th or 34th Street-Penn Station-Coney Island One-third of trains operate via the from Roosevelt Avenue-Bergen Street, with such trains stopping at Queens Plaza and Court Square before proceeding to Bergen Street via the and resuming regular route there to Coney Island. runs via the 8th Avenue line West 4th Street-53rd Street/5th Avenue.
