Downtown (F)(M) run via the (E) between 36th Street and West 4th Street.

Uptown (B)(D) run via 8th Ave Express between West 4th Street and 59th Street

If you actually look at the track layout. the (F)(M) are almost unaffected. All they have to do is switch to the leftmost track before 47/50 Streets and switch back to the local track south of 42 Street. To allow this, (M) runs via (F) between 36 Street and 47/50 Streets.

The rest of it is fine.

Suppose a signal fire broke out at Forest Hills-71 Av, causing massive damage to vital equipment there. Now what?

(C) and (M) are tempoarily re-routed in the following manner:

All Times to 168th Street:

(C) from Broadway Junction (J) station

(M) from Metropolitan Avenue (weekends and overnights terminating at 145th Street (B) station)

(E) runs in two sections:

Jamaica Center to Union Turnpike-Kew Gardens

74th Street-Roosevelt Avenue, extended to Euclid Avenue to replace the (C) in Brooklyn (Express in Queens, local in Brooklyn)

Overnights: Trains from Roosevelt Avenue terminate at Chambers Street as normal (and operates local in Queens).

(F) runs in two sections:

179th Street to Union Turnpike-Kew Gardens

74th Street-Roosevelt Avenue to Coney Island (normal route)

A temporary (K) train (operating 2-4 TPH) is put into operation between the Chambers Street (E) platform and 168th Street, except overnights when the (A) operates as normal.

(R) operates normal service to 74th Street-Roosevelt Avenue ONLY!!

Shuttle buses operate as follows:

74th-Roosevelt to Union Turnpike (making all local subway stops)

Metropolitan Avenue (M) Station to Union Turnpike-Kew Gardens (direct service, transfer to other shuttle buses if needed here)

Metropolitan Avenue (M) Station to 71st-Continental (direct service, transfer to other shuttle buses if needed here)

Metropolitan Avenue (M) Station to 74th-Roosevelt (direct service, transfer to other shuttle buses if needed here)

Special express shuttle buses operate from 179th Street (F) station, in each case stopping ONLY at Archer Avenue and Sutphin Boulevard (E)(J) stations before going to EITHER the Metropolitan Avenue (M) station OR the Broadway Junction A/C/J/L station.

Additional express shuttle buses operate as follows:

Between 179th Street on the (F) to 74th Street-Roosevelt, stopping only at Parsons Boulevard

Between Archer Avenue on the (E) and 74th-Roosevelt, stopping only at Sutphin Boulevard

MetroCards are also honored between Jamaica Station and Flatbush Avenue on the Brooklyn Line with special OOS transfers available connecting to the (L) at Atlantic Avenue and (A) and (E) at Nostrand Avenue and all lines at the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center Station.

Anything to bring the (C) to the East and the (M) to Harlem, hm?

Suppose a signal fire broke out at Forest Hills-71 Av, causing massive damage to vital equipment there. Now what?

(E)(F) - no service between Union Turnpike and Roosevelt Av; local between 21 St/Queens Plaza & Roosevelt Av

(M) - via Nassau St, weekdays, normal service other times

(R) - no service between 57 St-7 Av and Continental Av

Obviously, buses would be brought in to bridge the gap between Roosevelt Av and Kew Gardens.

However, nothing would be gained by sending the C to the Eastern Division and the M uptown to Harlem and Washington Heights. In fact, you'd create more of a mess with the additional service on Central Park West and the Jamaica elevated and that's on top of the mess with the hypothetical situation at Forest Hills.

There is a track fire at 145 Street destroying vital signal and junction equipment there. This will take at least a month to fix,

Lines Affected: (A)(B)(C)(D) Reroute/Suspened

BONUS:

Suppose it is still the time where the (C) went to Bedford and the (B) went to 168 Street. Reroute

No (A) between 168 street and 59 street.

(B) runs between 21 street and Coney Island every day except late nights.

(C) is suspended.

No (D) between 161 street and 59 street.

(E) is extended to Euclid Avenue.

A hack in ConEdison has shut off all power in westchester and some parts in the bronx and Manhattan. As a result, signals have been going haywire and junctions acting chaotic. Lines affected:

242 Street (1): signals has overloaded and exploded and has caught fire, junctions are now stuck in the uptown direction.

Woodlawn (4): signals acting chaotic, junctions stuck in the straight position.

Burnside (4): Station only has enough electricity to power a 5 car subway set (I know this is unrealistic, but just go with it.)

125 Street (4)(5)(6): Signals acting haywire, junctions are stuck forcing (4)(5) trains to go via the (6).

East 180 Street (2)(5): Signals okay, junctions acting haywire forcing the (2) to go via the (5) and the (5) via the (2).

Neird Ave (2)<5>: Signals acting haywire, station cannot be used as terminal.

The (6) Line between 3rd Ave - 138 Street to Parkchester does not allow (6) trains to go on the Express Tracks due to junction problems and Parckchester can only be used on the uptown Platform, the Express Track and downtown platform is out of service.

Reroute/Suspend.

(1) - Trains use uptown track at 242nd Street and downtown trains use center track between 242 and right before 238, where they use the switch to the local track.

(4) - Ends at 176th Street Southbound Platform. Runs Express 170th Street to 176th Street Northbound.

5 Car Shuttle runs from Woodlawn to 176th Street Northbound Platform.

(4)(5) Run Local Northbound 42nd - 125th Streets and switch to Express at 125th to avoid the bad switches.

(2) and (5) switch routes north of E 180 Street.

<5> Suspended. (It would have run to Dyre anyway due to the above change.)

<6> Suspended.

(6) Ends at Hunts Point Ave.

Shuttle runs from Pelham Bay Park to Hunts Point Ave, using the Northbound track south of Parkchester and both tracks north of it.

Javier should expect delays on his (1) train, and therefore should plan to arrive early at 242nd Street so that he makes it on time.

Next:

Several projects are going on:

-Structural fixes on the Lex at Union Square.

-Myrtle Av Junction rebuild.

-Lenox Av rebuild (A proposal to have express/local service and the junction)

-Rogers Junction rebuild.

-E180 junction rebuild (north of the station).

They have done some research and determined the year with least ridership. It has come and now it's time to get these projects out of the way.

Reroute/suspend service.

MTA Dude is hated by all New Yorkers for making their commute hell. He is driven out of the city by an angry mob and can no longer make such destructive decisions.

Please try to come up with more realistic suggestions for this thread. ^That was just insane.

A cloaked man with a suspiciously large package and a backpack was spotted trying to get into the Coney Island station through the emergency exit at Mermaid Avenue right before morning rush. When police nearby started pursuing the man, the man made a dash for the platforms with only his backpack, leaving the large package behind by the emergency exit. The police pursuing the man were only able to find the cloak discarded along the way near the ramp to the (F) platform. A (Q) train, (F) train, and (D) train just left the station in succession, with 10 more minutes until the police can access security footage or issue orders to search the trains.

Time to start cutting off subway service to the area.

Coney Island Stillwell Avenue is evacuated until the threat is deactivated.

All (B)(D)(F)(Q) trains in the area are given instructions to freeze where they are until they are all searched:

(B) below Kings Highway

(D) below Bay Parkway

(F) below Kings Highway

(Q) below Kings Highway

All other (B)(D)(F)(Q) trains end at the above stations southbound.

In addition, southbound (N) trains end at 86th Street.

Me?

I didn't send the (C) to Jamaica or the (M) to Harlem... I provided service on the available tracks to all stations. What's the issue with that?

I didn't send the (C) to Jamaica, I send it to the station where people can transfer to the line the (C) NORMALLY runs on.

And I send the (M) to 168th (145th Weekends/Overnights) in the scneario I did because there otherwise is no real good place to terminate it and there are political factions (particularly in Willamsburg) to keep happy PLUS in that scenario I want to break up the Queens Boulevard ridership as much as possible so there isn't an overflow at 74th-Roosevelt packing into that station nor the (J) being packed from Jamaica Center to Broadway Junction (which is the real reason in sending the (M) to Harlem in that scenario).

I'll have to go back to the original situation and think it over. Thanks for the explanation.

There is a explosion in Jay Street-MetroTech and the (A), (C), (F), and (G) trains are affected. Service needs to be restored and it is during PM rush hour. What would you do? My way would do this:

1. (G) service from Forest Hills-71 Avenue to Bedford-Nostrand Avenues.

2. (A) trains run only from Utica Avenue to Lefferts Blvd or Far Rockaway.

3. (C) service runs via the (A) from 207 Street to World Trade Center via (E) line.

4. (F) runs from Avenue X to Jamacia- 179 Street via the (G).
