KNIGHTRIDER3:16 Posted December 20, 2011 Share #1 Posted December 20, 2011 It just got real seeing ex bee line ORION buses on the Q66 in service . We have a bad shortage due to loaners and O/S buses but it just got real seeing this.
KNIGHTRIDER3:16 Posted December 20, 2011 Author Share #2 Posted December 20, 2011 So far 106 120 and another are out right now maybe Q50 /65 and 1745 is around here somewhere yes L.I.B
East New York Posted December 20, 2011 Share #3 Posted December 20, 2011 1745??? Somebody needs to get a shot of this ASAP!
Grand Concourse Posted December 20, 2011 Share #4 Posted December 20, 2011 That seems strange. Why would a NG be at CP? Shouldn't LIB have sent back a 98xx or 7xx bus they borrowed? I can only hope those ex-BL buses holds up. LGA probably beat those buses to hell.
trainfan22 Posted December 20, 2011 Share #5 Posted December 20, 2011 Haha, the first thing I thought of was that dude from buschat when I saw the two depots involved lol. With that being said, I'm shocked a NG CNG made its way over to CP.... as they would have to train the B/O on how to operate them.
IntExp Posted December 20, 2011 Share #6 Posted December 20, 2011 I just saw 108 on the Q66 walking home from the Q23 just now..it looked so...out of place..I'm just so used of 66 buses coming out of CP..man, the MTA should rectify this problem ASAP...we can't afford to spread service out so thin while loaning buses to soon be to be put down LIB.... 4P3607 Posted December 20, 2011 Share #7 Posted December 20, 2011 I almost fainted upon seeing it, but I did see 106 on the Q38 earlier. my first thought was that the Q38 got switched back to LGA, I guess i was wrong!

Grand Concourse Posted December 20, 2011 Share #9 Posted December 20, 2011 I doubt they are going to let MTA Bus keep those NGs. Seats are not 'standard' and they are needed more at soon to be 'NICE'. Now if NICE needs those O5s, that's a different story. It kinda doesn't matter since new buses are coming in and would just mean the older buses around would have to stay around a bit longer than to be mothballed or scrapped. JAzumah Posted December 21, 2011 Share #11 Posted December 21, 2011 The NUTS (Nassau's Underfunded Transportation Service) buses are getting prepared for DOT inspection at CP, among other places. I am not surprised to hear they are being pressed into service if true.
Amtrak7 Posted December 21, 2011 Share #12 Posted December 21, 2011 If LIB has a bus shortage, why is CP taking their NG's for service?

Joel Up Front Posted December 21, 2011 Share #18 Posted December 21, 2011 Those NGs need to be reseated if they ever want to handle NYC crowds. They are going nowhere come New Year's. How did the bus operators like the NG?
trainfan22 Posted December 21, 2011 Share #19 Posted December 21, 2011 If this keeps up I can see WF getting shafted again in the C40 order and have the batch after JG go to CP. Its too bad Diesel Orions never made their way over to JG during the storage they had a couple of weeks ago. Would have kool to see some 6000s or ex bees on the 8, 9, 11, 35, 68, etc. But IMO RTS >> Orion V, so I guess that situation turned out for the better. Those NGs need to be reseated if they ever want to handle NYC crowds. They are going nowhere come New Year's. How did the bus operators like the NG? The 3G Orions at QV have the same seating setup in the rear, only difference is the LF section of the 3G is 2x1 wheres the LIB NGs are 2x2. Joel Up Front Posted December 22, 2011 Share #20 Posted December 22, 2011 At any rate, I'm tired of seeing "the NG CNGs should to to the city." This was the exception.
User Posted December 22, 2011 Share #21 Posted December 22, 2011 Wait, are the LIB CNGs in the city for good? Do they belong to the ? How many are in or coming to the city?
4P3607 Posted December 24, 2011 Share #22 Posted December 24, 2011 Wait... if JG is getting their newer C40LF's, shouldn't that displace at least a few older C40's to CP? I thought thats what was going to happen... then again JG is at a shortage but I don't think they are 30 / 45 buses short.

CPBO Posted December 25, 2011 Share #24 Posted December 25, 2011 I drove 139 yesterday on the Q19....these are 1995's and are junk....rattler...destination sign don't work...fare box jammed...Governed at 42 but I still liked it compared to the Orion we have....go figure....
