The northern half of the A (from 207th to Chambers) was all open on Day 1, and on its southern end, while for a bit it was a Manhattan-only line, it was rather quickly extended over the Culver Line to Church Avenue, where it stayed for 3 years until the first section of the Fulton Line opened. Even then it only went to Rockaway Ave, Then Broadway ENY, then Euclid, then they connected it to the Liberty El to Lefferts, then they built the connection to the Rockaway line! Next oooooh. i was thinking the N. it use to serve queens blvd which was close to the worlds fair and it use to be known as BMT's #4, and has gone though a few route changes over the years.
