Took the #24a from Jersey Gardens earlier this afternoon.... For whatever the reason, I saw an OOS #31 at Ivy Hill, while I was waiting for the #37.

I bring this up to say two things:

1} 24's are out there like wildfire... Obvious/vast improvement in service on the first day, compared to Coach USA...

2) They don't have "normal" signage for the 24/31 yet (pretty sure it's the same deal with the #44, although I never came across one today)..... On the front/top/main signage, it just displays the route number in the middle of the sign...

like this [         24           ]

Seems the destinations weren't programmed onto the main NJ Transit system yet. The routes can't be found on MyBus.

Technically the northbound 24A has been relabeled to 24S (Scotland Road). The 24B is now the 24H (Harrison Street). Southbound, those are 24E and 24J respectively...yeah NJT at it again with these suffixes

While she (the b/o) did yell out "Scotland Road" when she pulled up to the stop at Jersey Gardens, she also said "24A".... She kept blurting out 24A at every stop where someone boarded (or attempted to board).... So she apparently didn't get the message of any of that....

....unless she did that as a courtesy to riders, knowing that we wouldn't know wtf a 24S was on the first day.

------------------

Something interesting to note was that, before she pulled up to the stop, she stopped adjacent to a dispatcher in a white car - signed up with the HOWELL signage (before changing it to the 24 signage as displayed in my last reply)! I still don't know what to make of that... My immediate thought was, since when are there 40'-ers running out of Howell....

I would rather NJT not touch the suffixes until later in the process if they are not changing the route. They are introducing an unnecessary element of confusion into the process.

Putting what I think should happen with the route aside, I'd rather they leave the old nomenclature as is, because of that reason.

NJT released schedules for the 8, 9, and 14:

8: https://content.njtransit.com/sites/default/files/2023-10/T0008.pdf

9: https://content.njtransit.com/sites/default/files/2023-10/T0009.pdf

14: https://content.njtransit.com/sites/default/files/2023-10/T0014.pdf

Nothing for the 80 yet but it'd likely happen when the next pick is to occur.

i was on the 24 from Broad Jersey Elizabeth  from the train to the Mills Jersey Gardens Mall and this time service was much better then when Coach USA One bus ran i not much waiting around and made the train home, Coach USA was a crapshoot whether a bus would show up or take the 40 bus to Newark
