Train Fan Posted December 17, 2012 Share #1979 Posted December 17, 2012 Supossably they're going to send some 46's over to the Rockaways so that the can run OPTO. They really need to either get those R42's off the line, or make them 10 cars, since they have to stop at the 10 car marker in order to give the C/R a board to point to, which means that passengers at some stations need to dash 150 ft just to get into the rear car if they were waiting at the arriving end of the platform. So it's still a lot better than the huge distance train passengers have to run.
Fresh Pond Posted December 17, 2012 Share #1980 Posted December 17, 2012 Random question... ...how much time do they give you to go through the turnstiles after you swipe your metrocard? Me and my girl had a little debate about it earlier and I figure I ask you guys for the answer

CDTA Posted December 18, 2012 Share #1984 Posted December 18, 2012 There's no time limit. It's until someone walks through the turnstile.
Grand Concourse Posted December 18, 2012 Share #1985 Posted December 18, 2012 The Heet seems to have a time limit. I remember several years back I swiped in, but turned back to drag a heavy bag. I pushed only to find out i'm 'locked out'. It pissed me off, but fortunately it was an unlimited and I went to another nearby station (I think this was the Canal area ).

narnia0100 Posted December 18, 2012 Share #1991 Posted December 18, 2012 I have two questions. How would these station names appear on the FIND Displays? -Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center -Borough Hall -81 St-Museum of Natural History -Central Park North-110 St -149 St-Grand Concourse<BRONX> And in what situation would the station names on the FIND maps include/exclude the neighborhood/area from the station name? For example, on the train, the FIND would read "Briarwood-Van Wyck Blvd"; on the train, the FIND would read 179 St (omitting "Jamaica-" part. Thanks, Zachary

RollOver Posted December 19, 2012 Share #1998 Posted December 19, 2012 While I was railfanning on the local from 168 to Euclid in the southbound side with the R32, an that we made a connection to at Canal (which was held since the was late due to a and a infront of it as well as another ) and passed us from Clinton-Washington to Franklin got held at Broadway Junction for some reasons. We make a connection to that same like we did at Canal and passed us when we were heading to Franklin.

What your point? Anyways, that R32 set in the Rockaways sure seems lonely....... Edited December 19, 2012 by NovaCSW8030
RollOver Posted December 20, 2012 Share #2000 Posted December 20, 2012 (edited) If anyone is on the IND Eighth Avenue Line heading out to either 125 or 145 Streets and you get on the first, ALWAYS stay on it and transfer at 59 Street-Columbus Circle if an or a express pulls into the station at the same time or 2 minutes after. If you're on the first, never change if the pulls into West 4 Street, 14 Street or 42 Street-Port Authority Bus Terminal. As Snowblock pointed out, there can be a that will cross right in front of it. You never know. The 14-59 Express isn't even about saving time anyway.
