Few months ago I saw a B41 school run and although it was full of screaming kids, some guy was 'brave' [balls of steel, cuz I sure as hell would not get on a bus with those animals] got on the bus even though the driver said it was a school bus.Point is people can still get on as if it was a regular run. A similar situation happened to me years back on the SEPTA 129 or 128 line I barely remember but I know it was one of those 2 no they are not school trippers but yes it was full of screaming school kids. The X32 was discontinued due to low ridership, and that alone speaks volume as to why the route was done away with. lol.... word... it's too easy to shut down this guy's points; wasn't meant to be profitable.... This running thought that the MTA created the x32 out of the supposed kindness of its heart to make travel for specialized students easier (if that were the case, then the buses would have been free, [right CheckmateChamp ]).... .....the same MTA that wanted to get rid of student metrocards, mind you..... It WAS open to everyone, just targeted toward students. That's not accurate... You were questioned if you attempted to board that route if you weren't a student.... being open to everyone means I can walk on a bus, pay my fare, and make my way on the bus.... No questions asked. That's discrimination. Exactly. hence why it was CUT!!!! the arrogant fools got selfish and basically got what they deserved!!!! when you try to hog up a public bus rte all to urself it WILL GET AXED!!!!! Hence why X32 was killed. I would bring it back as a limited stop/express rte thaty saves ppl from Q44 well sort off. That's not the reason why it was cut.... Like I said before, the students THEMSELVES weren't riding x32's in full force.... the service catered to schoolkids.... Do the math. X32 alone could never acomplish this and has hidden potential as the route needed to link westchester or even the regional transportation network beyond upstate to LI without having to pass through manhattan or drive on I-295. Its current rush service will be as is but its full time service will be completely different intended as a bypass that links nassau with upstate w/o manhattan the westchester parts and intercity rail at new rochelle thus creating more opportunities. The intention I had was to take rtes with the most transfer opportunities that had a route pattern similar to the X32 and merge them with a variant of X32 along part of it's route the parsons segment other than the school trippers gets axed. the routes are meant to get ppl out of their cars rather than cater to current travellers the new route pattern I have for X32 is targeted at types of trips not very easilly done via transit in it's current form this extends transit's flexibility the route would be promoted as a quick bypass type of route for many different travellers rather than one group of ppl. If you took time to look beyond you NYC region you would actually understand what I am talking about but sadly only a few are good enough to figure it. Also long distance ppl will always need manhattan for heading west of the hudson and going along those areas. However once the I-287 rail corridor is done the possibilities will only increase. That along with express service improvements throughout NYC metro area will have indirect possibilities on the transit network. LI is not suitable for intercity bus rtes at all I was surprised shortline even improved service to LI. DID you not here me when I said BEYOND bedford park????? Plus I suggested after becoming all day gets extended beyond yes it links ppl to BL20/21/4 but another ability when extended it can be a faster way to reach empire city. Or connect in yonkers with many BL rtes and the train station but unlike BL rtes it will make very LTD stops cause its intended for speed. Another possibility includes if Q38 becomes Q51 to flushing during rest of day it absorbs x32's bay terrance routing but goes express via 295 to link with bx8 and 40/42 then co-op city and act as a reverse of Q50 but to new rochelle via 95 to link with other transit services turning the rte into an interregional LTD/express route. the 3 runs however left unchanged as school variants.
