One Weekend, the Manhattan bridge south tracks have a major signal problem that will last for the entire weekend. No trains can travel thorugh the Manhattan bridge south tracks for that weekend. The Montague Tubes is closed during the repairs. Reroute the (N)  (Q)  (R) .

(Q) Prospect Park to Coney Island

(R) 71 Av to 57 St-7 Av, Court St to 95 St

He only said south side Manhattan Bridge; the north side is still open, so no need to cut all service between Brooklyn and Manhattan.

 

(R) two part service as currently on weekdays

(N) simply goes (D)(F) way to CTL.

(B) replaces (Q) Stillwell to 145.

(N): Trains run in 2 sections.

1. Between Astoria-Ditmars Blvd and Whitehall St.

2. Between Court St (R) Station and Coney Island.

(Q): No trains between DeKalb Av & 57th St.

(R): Trains rerouted over (B and (M) line between Queens Plaza & DeKalb Av via 53rd St/6th Av over Manhattan Bridge in both direction.

During this period:

 

(N) runs in two sections:

Coney Island-Court Street (R) station (Court and Jay Street-Metrotech are open during this time)

Canal Street (Tunnel level)-Ditmars Boulevard, Queens (lower Manhattan stations scheduled to be closed weekends remain such)

 

(Q) runs via 6th Avenue express to 57th Street (F) station

 

(R) runs via the (B) DeKalb Avenue-West 4th, then via the (M) West 4th to 71st-Continental. 

 

Edited to add:

 

NEXT:  A big water main break inside Madison Square Park forces a shutoff of all services on the Lexington Avenue, Broadway and 6th Avenue lines, though the stations from 14th Street south and 32nd street north can be used as can switches north of West 4th and 14th Streets.  Reroute accordingly.

Next: A broken Water Pipe Floods Times Square , Affecting The Trains. Repairs will take about two Months.

 

First 1-2 Days:

All West Side IRT trains run as close to TS as possible, then drop out, staying there until further notice

7-Turns at GCT

(S) Suspended

(R) Via 6th Avenue (Any trains currently in service on Broadway go to the farthest possible point, and terminate there until further notice)

(N) Astoria-57th Street, CI-Whitehall Road (Any trains currently in service on Broadway go to the farthest possible point, and terminate there until further notice)

(Q) Astoria-57th Street, CI-Prospect Park (Any trains currently in service on Broadway go to the farthest possible point, and terminate there until further notice)

(B) Turns at 2nd Avenue (Any trains currently in service on the Brighton going south, complete their trip, going north, turn into (Q)'s)

(B)(D)(F)(M)(R) Delays 

 

Shuttle buses run from Prospect Park to 57th Street making all local stops via da bridge. (Using all spare buses and drivers from all depots)

 

Afterwards:

Same as above, except:

1-242nd Street-137th Street

2-241st Street-180th Street

3-148th Street-96th Street

5-Dyre Ave-Flatbush Ave ALL TIMES (TPH Maximum Possible for the time) (Select trains run local in Brooklyn)

Shuttle buses run on 145th Street stopping at 145th Street (1), 145th Street (3), 149th Street-Grand Concourse (4)(5) 

3-New Lots Avenue-34th Street via express (Southbound: 34th Street-Chambers Street, arrivals only) (Northbound: Chambers Street-34th Street, departures only)

Local shuttle buses run from 137th Street to 96th Street, from 96th Street to South Ferry, and express shuttle buses that run between 96th Street to Chambers Street. Additional shuttle buses stop only at local stops from 23rd Street to Franklin Street, also making a stop at Park Place. Some of these buses stop at Times Square aswell. Every single bus that can be used is used, and see if other regional systems (such as NJT, SCT etc.) and see if they can help out, offering compensation if necessary. 

(N) CI-Canal Street (Via Montague)

(Q) CI-Whitehall (Via Montague)

Broadway line shuttle buses: Whitehall Road, runs non-stop to 23rd Street, then makes all stops to 57th Street. Canal Street, makes all stops to 14th Street. 

(B) Bedford Park Blvd/145th Street-Brighton Beach ALL TIMES

(M) Metro Ave-Forest Hills ALL TIMES

No delays on the (B)(D) and lesser delays on the (F)(R)(M)

The M42 is temporarily fare-free, and will run with articulated buses

You can now board and alight express buses within the borough of Manhattan. 

Express bus fares are now $2.50.

The BxM1, and BxM2 will be temporarily discontinued, with cross-honoring on Metro-North and Amtrak. Amtrak trains to/from Albany ONLY will make stops at Spuyten Duyvil and Riverdale, for passage to Penn Station ONLY. Metro-North express trains will stop at the stops above and Marble Hill. 

BxM18 buses will be routed through Inwood, and will make stops on the Upper East Side. 

Increased BxM18, BM3 and BxM3 buses, which will be running all times. 

Charter buses will be called in if nessecary

(C): No Brooklyn service. Service runs overnight and rerouted over to (E) line between West 4th St and World Trade Center.

(E): Service suspended.

(F): Trains run in 2 sections.

1. Between Jamaica-179th St & Queens Plaza.

2. Between 57th St-6th Av and Coney Island-Stillwell Av.

(M): Service ends early and terminate at Chambers St station.

(R): Weekday Manhattan-Queens section extended on (E) line between Forest Hills and Jamaica Center during this time and runs overnight.

The 53rd Street and 63rd Street tubes are blocked. YOU MUST provide two QBL services running into Manhattan!

Going to mean a massive jam on the 60th Street Tunnel to pull this off.

 

(E) re-routed via the Broadway line, running Whitehall Street-Jamaica Center.

 

(F) runs in two sections:

179th Street-Court Square (E) station in Queens

57th Street-6th Avenue, Manhattan to Coney Island, Brooklyn

 

(G) extended to 71st-Continental 24/7 and rush hours to 179th Street until this block ends.

(M) is re-routed via the (E) from West 4th-Lexington Avenue, where it terminates, running 24/7 until this block ends.

(Q) shortened to 57th Street/6th Avenue all times until this block ends.

(R) runs 24/7 Whitehall Street to 71st-Continental (also extended to 179th Street rush hours) until this block ends.

The 63rd Street tunnel can only be accessed from the Broadway line due to a problem north of the 57th Street (F) station while simultaneously, the Queens Boulevard line can not be accessed from either the 53rd or 60th Street tunnels (the Astoria line CAN be accessed from 60th Street, however).

(2) and (3) service is suspended in brooklyn for 12 months.

The (2) Wakefield 241 street-Chambers street

The (3) Harlem 148 street- 14th street

A new one track (S) Chambers street-Wall street

 

 

Late nights and weekends all trains will run local in Brooklyn. Late nights and weekends no (S) service use (4)(5)(6) trains instead. (5) will run to Flatbush ave-Brooklyn Collage at all times until (2) service is restored in Brooklyn.

A new local (S) Crown Hights Utica ave-Franklin ave

The (4) Express Woodlawn-Newlots ave

The (5) Local Dyre avenue-Flatbush ave Brooklyn Collage

Just an idea, but maybe they can also extend the (J) / (Z) via Montague full time to bridge the capacity gap between Brooklyn Bridge and Atlantic.

(4): Late night train continues on (3) to/from New Lots Av.

(5): Operates overnight to/from Brooklyn College, running local only.

(J)(Z): Extend on (R)(D) line to 9th Av.

This is the most logical thing I would do

 

(A) 8th ave/Fulton local via the (F) with increased head ways, some selected (A)'s will terminate at chambers

 

(C) 8th Ave Express 168th - chambers

Reason for the (C) express is for smooth operation

 

(2) I would have it go to chambers or south ferry as a local while the (3) goes to 14

 

(4)/(5) will go to flat bush and new lots 24/7

 

To ease congestion on the (4)/(5) have The (J) go to 9th Ave (use the R32s from the (C) the half that's not used) the (Z) would be unchanged

 

The (A) would do fine as a local just increase the headways

(B) Suspended

(D) Runs in two sections. Between Norwood 205th St and 2nd Ave Manhattan. Between 9th Ave Brooklyn and Coney Island

(N) No service in Manhattan. Runs between Astoria and Queensboro Plaza and from 8th Ave and Coney Island.

(Q) No Service in Queens and Manhattan. Runs from Prospect Park to Coney Island. Select rush hour trains run express.

Northern (R) Trains run normally. Additional rush hour trains will run via express to 57th to make up for loss of (Q) in Manhattan.

Southern (R) Service cut back to 36th Street.

Shuttle Bus Service will be provided as necessary

The DeKalb Avenue junction is flooded.

Trains are able to run between Court St and Jay St without a problem.

Reroute the B D N Q R.

This assumes the Montague tunnel is back in operation:

 

Shuttle bus runs in Brooklyn between Jay Street-Metrotech and 36th Street.

 

(B) runs between Bedford Park Boulevard and EITHER 2nd Avenue (F) station OR Chambers Street (E) station (alternating trains).

 

(D) runs with the (F) West 4th Street-Coney Island via Express tracks Jay Street-Church Avenue AND via peak direction express between Church Avenue and Avenue X.  (D) then runs through Coney Island and continue via regular route to 36th Street.

 

(F) also runs through Coney Island and replaces the (N) along the Sea Beach line to 36th Street.

 

(M) is re-routed via its old route between Essex Street and Chambers Street in Manhattan.  If needed, (J) / (Z) and/or (M) trains can be extended to Jay Street (R) station in Brooklyn (especially during off hours).

 

(N) runs via the (R) between Prince Street and Jay Street in Brooklyn, where it terminates.

 

(Q) runs as a five-car, 300' shuttle train between Coney Island and Botanic Garden (S) station in Brooklyn (terminating on Coney Island-bound track).

 

(R) runs in two sections:

 

71st-Continental, Queens and Jay Street, Brooklyn

 

Shuttle between 36th or 59th Street and 95th Street in Brooklyn depending on capacity at 36th Street for turning trains.

 

Franklin Avenue (S) reduced to a single train operating between Botanic Garden and Franklin Avenue on Franklin Avenue-bound track.

What if a tree fell down near Ave. M train station covering the northbound local and express tracks and the southbound express tracks, during rushhour. Reroute the (B) and (Q) trains

(B) runs Bedford Park Boulevard to EITHER 2nd Avenue (F) OR Chambers Street (E) station (alternating trains).

(Q) terminates at Prospect Park.

 

Single track shuttle operates on Coney Island-Bound local track between Prospect Park and Newkirk Avenue.

Shuttle bus operates between Prospect Park and Kings Highway.

 

(D) and (N) run regular route to Coney Island, then run through and are extended to Kings Highway (B)(Q) station.
