Bee Flexible #823 Posted February 17, 2009 Share #227 Posted February 17, 2009 It has been about a month since I last replied to this topic. Still have not heard anything from MaBSTOA or MTAB. I'm thinking The Hat may be correct on this one. No contract...no new hires. So it'll be a while. Honestly, I give up! I'm going to switch tracks. Everything is more screwed up now than ever. Pelham Bay Dave Posted March 5, 2009 Share #230 Posted March 5, 2009 Yeah they must be scraping the bottom of the list when it comes to C/R's I got to break them in all the time.

Bee Flexible #823 Posted March 26, 2009 Share #232 Posted March 26, 2009 I guess I can forget about getting hired as a Bus Operator for the MTA now that these service cuts are official. I'm done! I just give up! I can't get a job anywhere let alone this. It's just awful.
FatBoy1169 Posted March 27, 2009 Share #233 Posted March 27, 2009 was talking to a operator from my depot and the only division hiring now is private lines the operator was doing 19a in the bronx and he seen a mta private line class just hang in there ladies and gentlemen
Bee Flexible #823 Posted March 31, 2009 Share #234 Posted March 31, 2009 Why don't I believe that these hirings are credible? I still say that all hirings continue to be frozen and have been this way for almost a year now. They want everyone who is working to do much more with less. I never thought the world economy would ever get this bad.

Locomotion69 Posted April 2, 2009 Share #236 Posted April 2, 2009 I heard it over the radio this morning, the trainer was at shore rd/4th ave in Brooklyn. He had 9 students on the bus. He said they have 2 more weeks of training, mentioned something about going down for health benefits yesterday. From what list these students are from I don't know. I will update later on if I hear anything new.
Bee Flexible #823 Posted April 14, 2009 Share #237 Posted April 14, 2009 With MTA Armageddon looming, I think we can say the same for these hirings as there will be nothing but massive layoffs from Bus Operators to Customer Service Reps. I'm done! I'm burned out! I no longer want to pursue this as a career. It's just not worth it for me. IMO, I think all of the DCAS/MTA/NYCT Exams should be cancelled until they can get their act straight...IF they can ever get their act straight-which is like pigs flying. Why even set up a list? Why have the exam? STOP WASTING EVERYONE'S TIME AND MONEY! I FOR ONE DON'T HAVE IT TO GIVE! If you are hiring, then post the exam up. If not, then DON'T. How dense and dumb can one be?

Locomotion69 Posted April 16, 2009 Share #239 Posted April 16, 2009 Heard anything about anymore training? No,I have yet to realize the full potential of my scanner. There is a lot more that I can listen to but I don't know how to program my scanner. I got Chris F into getting a scanner, hoping he can figure it out before me,haha. Once the 5025 list starts moving again it should move fast because the longer people wait the more they will lose interest and you will have a higher rate of no shows. LexAveExp5 Posted April 22, 2009 Share #241 Posted April 22, 2009 with the construction of the 2nd Ave. subway, could anybody venture a guess as to how many T/O jobs will be created? by then the recession SHOULD be over along with all hiring freezes
Jah Posted April 22, 2009 Share #242 Posted April 22, 2009 with the construction of the 2nd Ave. subway, could anybody venture a guess as to how many T/O jobs will be created? by then the recession SHOULD be over along with all hiring freezes My guess is not many jobs at all. The TA will just add more work to existing jobs. Today we do way more work than a T/O did 20 years ago and back then there where many jobs. LexAveExp5 Posted April 22, 2009 Share #243 Posted April 22, 2009 so who would share the duties of operating on 2nd Ave? those from the Lex line?
Jah Posted April 22, 2009 Share #244 Posted April 22, 2009 so who would share the duties of operating on 2nd Ave? those from the Lex line? Have to wait and see what they decide to do. I doubt the second avenue line will be a new line. It will most likely be an add on of another line.
Pelham Bay Dave Posted April 22, 2009 Share #245 Posted April 22, 2009 Its suppose to be the Coney Island to where ever on 2 AV. They just add a few jobs to whatever they got now. However if they get the going then jobs will be added. However they cut so many every year it will just replace what is lost systerm wide.
LexAveExp5 Posted April 22, 2009 Share #246 Posted April 22, 2009 doesnt the plan include the right now?
Pelham Bay Dave Posted April 22, 2009 Share #247 Posted April 22, 2009 Yeah but only after they do the whole line in the short term is service only between 63 Street to 96 Street on the 2 AV Line so a line will be Extended.
