It's a mystery, it looks more like a repaint with the white doors, the door side and rear looks clean as all hell like it got repainted, but the drivers side looks different from the rest. The fact that they gave that one the curved stripe look is a mystery to me.

 

Weird, wonder if it's the same story as 3851 with just a couple new pieces here and there, not the whole thing.

No white face

Blue numbers over the door

Front number in the black

Curved stripe in the rear

Blue stripe on the doors

 

Wait, that may just be the original paint on 4037 with a new nose/front numbers and the side ad missing. Those look like the original numbers on the side, and that would explain why it's still got the original stripe.

That is a repaint. 4633 is done the same way.

 

Also, add 8796 as repainted with a white back...why the MTA is repainting a 17-year old bus is beyond me.
