There’s currently a R32 train running in the Rockaways.

Consisted of cars 3646-7, 3828-9, 3888-9, 3894-5 (All cars from the final run).

Also this week, a train from Concourse was sent to Coney most likely for scrap.

Probably either for a movie shoot, Brake testing or a protection train for the Museum train

That set that that was from Concourse is a scrap train.

From the above reply, it's most likely a training session for the newcomers on the job for MTA.

3828-3829 are now retired as of today.

Although, 3938-3939 was spotted at Jay St-Metrotech last Friday mated with the other 6 cars from post above. That will substitute for said retired units.

Dang, I can’t imagine an R32 operating on SIR tracks

Agreed...the R-32 and the Verrazano Narrows Bridge, connecting Brooklyn to Staten Island, both went into service in 1964.   The bridge forever ended the possibility of BMT lines trains traveling to and thru Staten Island, which had been proposed via a never built tunnel, earlier.

How did the bridge end the possibility of building a parallel subway tunnel between Brooklyn and Staten Island?

I don't disagree that it wouldn't be cheap. But I think the real problem is a lack of will more than anything else.
