R32 Retirement Run

@BM5 via Woodhaven@QM1to6Ave Yeah, between the Santa-Con trustfund kids, the hipster doofuses on the Holiday Train, and the yuppies doing the No-Pants Ride, I never had any patience for any of the tomfoolery.

It was almost always the typical story of 'rich kids from the suburbs move to NY, price everybody else out of Manhattan, then do dumb college-type shenanigans treating the city like their personal playground'.

During the evening hour or later afternoon, light rain will happen. So, pack an umbrella if you're willing to be outside for photos in-case it does. Otherwise, enjoy the last run if one of you are attending. The general order for the (Q) via Montague tunnel to 96 St is cancelled.

Is it true the runs tomorrow will only be 6 cars?

I hope not, as the trips tomorrow will most likely draw the largest crowds.

1) it's the last R32 runs ever

2) they haven't ran in passenger service on the Brighton in well over a decade, a lot of the younger railfans wasn't old enough the enjoy that R32 (B) train during the Brighton station rehab.

If it's only six cars they should have tacked on the phase two cars to replace the vandalized cars. Then again IDK how road worthy the Phase two cars are nor do I know how long it would take to prep them.

I know that's not true because there's no conductors position for 6 car operation along the (Q).

Aren't some of the parade of trains consists less than six cars? And they able to load & unload passengers just fine at Brighton Beach even though there isn't C/R boards for six car operations there AFAIK.

Those are 8 IIRC.

TA makes a big fuss if there's no conductors board. That's why the (5) used to skip Pelham Pkwy when it was running express until recently.

The year the Arnines was on the BB - Ocean Parkway shuttle certainly wasn't 8 cars, same goes for the R38/R33WF mix they ran another year. I think the BMT standards museum train is only like three or four cars long.

A TSS be riding these museum runs so maybe the TA let's the whole lack of an C/R board thing slide since an TSS is on the train anyway.

Those strict rules about C/R boards mainly apply to regular road trains.

No, it’s 10. Since it’s technically running as a regular (Q) train, it should be a full length train

It's 8 cars, just in case anyone is still wondering.

Power is being removed at Times Square. There's a chance if things don't clear up soon that (Q) trains could be going via 6th Avenue. The R32 trip left Brighton Beach a few minutes ago.

Delays

(N)(Q)(R)trains are delayed in both directions while we remove third rail power to allow NYPD to respond to an unauthorized person on the tracks at 42 St.

EDIT: Looks like it might be going via 6th Avenue

Trains Rerouted

(N)(Q)(R)trains are delayed and/rerouted while we remove third rail power to allow NYPD to respond to an unauthorized person on the tracks at Times Sq-42 St.

(Q) trains are rerouted on the (D) and (F) lines in both directions between DeKalb Av and Lexington Av/63 St.

(R) trains are rerouted on the (D) and (F) lines in both directions between DeKalb Av and 36 St in Queens.

(N) trains are delayed in both directions.

For service to/from nearby Broadway line stations, take nearby (1)(4)(5)(6)(D)(F) lines.

The 32 Final Run went smooth with some foamers yelling at the top of their lungs along with the BIE at 14-Union Sq,

MTA and the Museum Crew were nice enough to where they sent ANOTHER 32 at Brighton Beach next to the Farewell set, they ran non-revenue trips back and forth between Brighton Beach & Kings Hwy via Brighton EXP for people to get photos and videos of them.

What was the numbers of the second R32 set? Was it the two pairs already apart of the TM collection?
