All the buses at Manhattanville are able to run through the transverse except for the Next Gens. So, it can be used on other routes besides the M66.

I’m sorry but I don’t believe that, I’ve seen next gens run on the transverse before deadheading to the M98

The clearence is much closer for Orions than for Xcelsiors and Novas so using Orions through the transverse is discouraged while not completely banned. Thats why you barely saw Orions on the M66 and M72 when MJQ had them.

Is this a permanent move?

It maybe temporary. Besides being used as Training Buses. If I recall, future XD-40s from the MTA Bus order will be at Eastchester for local service on the Bx23 and Q50-Limited. My thought is that they are getting the ops there familiar with the equipment upon arrival (they have 34 on the order list).

The selected LGA XD-40s are out for a while but, will comes back to the depot at some time

5444-5467 will be transferred to Mother Clara Hale

7572-7591 will be transferred to Manhattanville (should have been 9738-9740, 9742-9743, 9745-9746, 9748-9754, 9756-9757, 9781)

I'm guessing that these moves won't take place until April 2 for the new pick. Am I correct?

Temporary until ECH gets its new batch of XD40s. I'm sure the buses may get rotated, but now that the NF is the standard training bus, they must have a few at ECH for new hires completing their NY State CDL driving test. I'd also presume that may be why ECH is getting a few extra buses to accommodate training and regular service.

This would be bizarre to have straight diesels and an otherwise new fleet type out of MTV instead of just sending additional LFSes over. Confused by this.

4266: Manhattanville to LaGuardia.

This concludes the Spectrum NG era at Manhattanville, and at NYCT in general.

Castleton first got the 4200s in 2009. When the S79+ at Yukon was launched, Castleton send them their 4200s and refitted with Luminator Spectrum signs except 4278. When new Novas entered the scene, the 4200s were transferred to Manhattanville. Between 2019 and 2023, all of the Manhattan depots and Queens Village had Spectrums in their fleet base. However some were retired, while the rest were sent to (MTA)Bus.

Currently, (MTA)bus has the following Spectrums active:
LaGuardia: 4245, 4253, 4257, 4259, 4262, 4266-4267, 4269, 4274, and 4276 (10)

JFK: 4246, 4248, 4256, 4258, and 4260 (5)

and Eastchester: 4247 (1)

4250 is still at Manhattanville, sans spectrum display. Also, those units didn't start getting the display change until 2015.

Thanks, 4250 was part of the units that were refitted with Spectrums in 2015. I think last year 4250 removed the signs and replace it with Titans.

That actually happened about a month ago. It still had the spectrum display as early as February.
