LRG Posted November 14, 2010 Share #780 Posted November 14, 2010 I'll give this a try. In the 1970s, there was a route that was proposed but it never came to light except in June of 2010 ONLY due to budget cuts. Here's a hint: the route is in Brooklyn. Name the route that was proposed in the 70s as well as the route that takes the path of this proposed 1970s route.

IRT Bronx Express Posted November 15, 2010 Share #786 Posted November 15, 2010 @ IRT Bronx Express, Was it the BX3 Prospect Avenue?I'm not familiar with anything related to the pre-1984 route revamp. B)

B35 via Church Posted November 15, 2010 Share #788 Posted November 15, 2010 I'll give this a try. Name the route that was proposed in the 70s as well as the route that takes the path of this proposed 1970s route. being a brooklynite, this was too easy... since the question was already answered, I'll await the next one... I'll admit I slept on this thread.
EE Broadway Local Posted November 15, 2010 Share #789 Posted November 15, 2010 B35 via Church, Maybe you know the answer to IRT Bronx Express' trivia question above LRG's? I thought maybe it was the old BX3 Prospect Avenue which terminated at Pelham Parkway.
IRT Bronx Express Posted November 15, 2010 Share #790 Posted November 15, 2010 Anyone is more than welcome to help out with 70(EE)'s answer. This is my fault for not being specific, but I corrected it. This currently-existing Bronx bus used to terminate at Pelham Parkway.

IRT Bronx Express Posted November 17, 2010 Share #794 Posted November 17, 2010 Nope. 1st hint: This bus didn't short turn at Pelham Parkway, rather it was its northern terminal.
Mysterious2train Posted November 17, 2010 Share #795 Posted November 17, 2010 The Bx22 [it used to be called the Bx13, right?]
IRT Bronx Express Posted November 17, 2010 Share #796 Posted November 17, 2010 The Bx22 [it used to be called the Bx13, right?]The current Bx22 is the old Bx13. Good guess though, but the Bx22 still terminates at Pelham Parkway during the nighttime only.
Q43LTD Posted November 18, 2010 Share #797 Posted November 18, 2010 I got it. The old Bx7 (which was the western half of the Bx16)
IRT Bronx Express Posted November 18, 2010 Share #798 Posted November 18, 2010 The fact that the old Bx7 used to terminate at Pelham Parkway never crossed my mind. That service pattern was pre-1984 (which I never asked ), but why not? You're correct, but there's another one.
Q43LTD Posted November 18, 2010 Share #799 Posted November 18, 2010 The fact that the old Bx7 used to terminate at Pelham Parkway never crossed my mind. That service pattern was pre-1984 (which I never asked ), but why not? You're correct, but there's another one. The only other route I can think of is the old Bx13 (present day Bx22), but that is an overnight terminal
IRT Bronx Express Posted November 18, 2010 Share #800 Posted November 18, 2010 Yep, I mentioned that too. Here's my other hint: this current bus used to travel along with the Bx12.
