Make your own G.O

Abba

Recommended Posts

Due to mechanical door problems at Westchester Square (SB), downtown <6> will run express from Pelham Bay to Parkchester. Express service past Parkchester will not be affected. For access to the skipped stations, take the <6> to Parkchester, and transfer to an uptown local (6).

*This actually happened 2 years ago. I was heading to school one morning, and I heard an announcement saying that <6> was running express from Pelham Bay to Parkchester, in addition to the normal express route. I thought it was really cool to see a REAL Pelham Express in revenue service, although it was temporary.

I'll do something realistic.

Due to a situation on the Lenox Avenue Line:

No (2)(3) service along Leonx Avenue:

No (2) service along entire stretch of route.

Service Replaced by:

E. 241 St - 149th Street: 5

E. 149th Street - 96th Street: Express Shuttle Bus to Local Shuttle Bus

E. 149th Street - 137th Street: Express Shuttle Bus

137th Street - Franklin Avenue: 3, (3, 4, 5 in Brooklyn)

Franklin Avenue - Flatbush Avenue 5

(3) trains run between New Lots Avenue, Brooklyn and 137th Street - City College, except nights. Nights: 137th Street - Wall Street via 7 Avenue Local. Transfer at Fulton Street for (4)(5) service into Brooklyn.

(5) service runs 24/7 between 241 Street - WPRD and Flatbush Avenue via Lexington Avenue Express. Additional weekday service provided between Dyre Avenue and Flatbush Avenue. Trains from WPRD runs express in the Bronx. On weekends, and late nights, trains to/from Dyre Avenue will terminate at E. 180th Street, requiring a transfer between (5) trains.

Passengers are advised to use the (A)(B)(C)(D)(F)(N)(Q) or (R) trains, where appropriate, if possible.

For service between Manhattan and Brooklyn, use the (3). Note: Nights, transfer at Fulton St. for (4)(5) service to continue into Brooklyn, or transfer to the (N) and (Q) trains at Times Square - 42nd Street and take those trains to Atlantic Avenue for (4)(5) service.

For service along Lenox Avenue, use the local shuttle bus running between 96th Street, and 148th Street.

For service between Manhattan and the Bronx, transfer at 137th Street - City College for express shuttle buses. Express buses stop at Bway-137, Bway-145, St. Nicholas-145, Lenox-145, and Grand Concourse-149.

Alternate options:

Using crosstown buses to Lexington Avenue service.

96th Street - Bway 1/3 to 96th Street - Lexington 4/6 via M96.

116th Street - Lenox to 116th Street - Lexington 4/6 via M102, or M116.

125th Street - Lenox to 125th Street - Lexington 4/5/6 via Bx15, M101, M100, M60

125th Street to 3rd Avenue - 149th Street via Bx15

145th Street to 149th Street - Grand Concourse via Bx19 or express shuttle bus (stopping at Lenox, St. Nicholas, or Broadway)

Passengers living along White Plains Road in the North Bronx, consider using the Metro North (City Ticket available weekdays also during this time), the BxM11 bus to a crosstown bus in Manhattan, or transferring to the Bx26, Bx28/38, or Bx30 buses to (:)(D) service on Grand Concourse.

  • 2 months later...

Due to rail conditions at Bowery on the Nassau Street line and also between the Chambers-World Trade Center (E) station and Canal Street, the following is in effect:

(E) service is suspended on the entire line, (J) runs on a loop, terminating both ways at Jamaica Center:

(J) runs normal route to Essex Street, then via the (M) to West 4th before going via the (E)'s regular route to Jamaica Center upper level.
