MysteriousBtrain Posted January 18, 2017 Share #5502 Posted January 18, 2017 (edited) Oh. I feel so dumb... XD There are center tracks at some of the stations that are currently disused. I believe you could snake the through that section. Out of curiosity, when the operated via Queens Boulevard, what was the doing other than 6th Avenue? 1.Impossible because the only places to have (space for) more than two tracks are Classon Av and east of and including Bedford-Nostrand. Both are far from being any use at the moment (besides layovers and short turns at Bedford-Nostrand), let alone be any use to the .2. The was asleep when/if the ran on QBL. Around the Horn Posted January 18, 2017 Share #5503 Posted January 18, 2017 There is also no way to get from the E to the G other than the crossover at Queens Plaza and you can only go to Coney Island or short turn at Bedford-Nostrand, Church Av, Kings Highway or Avenue X. And you skip Manhattan.
Wallyhorse Posted January 18, 2017 Share #5504 Posted January 18, 2017 Track fires in the 63rd St Tunnel and the 53rd St tunnel has led to the closure of both. 63rd/Lex is operational. Court Sq and Lex/53rd are closed. Here goes (assuming 60th Street is unaffected and assuming the other (non-53rd Street) stations at Court Square are unaffected): runs via the Broadway Line after Queens Plaza to Whitehall Street (Select trains terminate at Queens Plaza southbound). Alternating trains run from Coney Island as follows: Via regular route to 63rd-Lex and the to 96th Street-2nd Avenue, where it terminates. Via the Crosstown between Bergen Street and Roosevelt Boulevard, normal route after that. and are both extended to 179th Street to help with traffic flow along the Queens Boulevard Line ( replaces the in Queens) and to accommodate for lost service on Queens Boulevard. runs to 96th Street-2nd Avenue. runs with delays due to the operating on Broadway. is suspended due to the having to use the Broadway Line.

What would you do? My take: : Runs in two sections: Coney Island to 36th Street or 9th Avenue (to avoid too many trains at 36th), Herald Square to 205th Street : provides alternate service to Manhattan and Bronx, select trains run to Coney Island : Runs in one section: Coney Island to 36th Street : Runs in two sections: 95th Street to 36th Street, Whitehall Street to 71st Avenue :provides alternate service in Queens, service increased, select trains run via Brighton Local to Coney Island Sent from my iPad using NYC Transit Forums mobile app Edited January 18, 2017 by Tonyboy515

Wallyhorse Posted January 19, 2017 Share #5516 Posted January 19, 2017 Kinda undoable with only one track to turn back trains. Combined TPH is going down to 10. You can if needed turn back some trains at 9th Avenue and/or Bay Parkway if necessary if you don't have enough capacity at 36th. Also, you can have trains cross over and come in on the southbound track at 36th Street to increase capacity, plus have trains go north of the station to turn as well. So if you do it rapidly, you can pull it off. This was mine on this: and begin and end at 36th Street in Brooklyn and run via regular routes to/from and through Coney Island, then running as follows: runs via the Culver Line between Coney Island and Broadway-Lafayette, then via regular route. runs via Brighton Express to Atlantic-Barclays and stops at DeKalb Avenue before resuming regular route to Astoria. runs in two sections: 71st-Continental to Jay Street-Metrotech Shuttle between 36th or 59th Street and 95th Street-Bay Ridge Shuttle buses run between Jay Street-Metrotech and 59th Street in Brooklyn. Adjusting it as noted: runs via Culver between Broadway-Lafayette and Coney Island, then through Coney Island via regular route to 36th Street (some trains terminate at 9th Avenue or Bay Parkway). runs via Brighton between Canal Street (stopping at DeKalb Avenue) and Coney Island, then through Coney Island via regular route to 36th Street (some trains end and begin at Kings Highway). still runs in two sections: 71st-Continental to Jay Street-Metrotech 36th or 59th Street to 95th Street-Bay Ridge
