someone is getting a talking to,,, not supposed to do that. You set it as an F to 71st and you go manual announcements. signs on the trains have to match your callsign.

See I find that rule to be incredibly unnecessary especially during major service disruptions where programs for that kind of reroute aren’t available.

Which is why do you it the old fashioned way.

F train making G stops and going as far at 71st might confuse the passengers.

Train says it’s a G when Itrac says it’s an F actually slows down service and can result in wrong lineups, because the tower has to figure out who you are.

Which sucks because it ends up being a double-edged sword because on one hand, you're the one making sure passengers don't end up getting confused and take full advantage of the circumstance on way or another. While on the other, the tower has to figure out whether you're that same train that got rerouted.

Communication goes a long way in either scenarios, but personally, passengers still end up either getting confused or angry if they still stuck as an (F) on way or another. Then again, I wouldn't know how tower or any higher-ups would react.

Forgive me, but if iTrac knows that train is an (F), and the tower should be well aware that (G) trains don't run on QBL, then common sense would dictate that the train is an (F) just signed as a (G) to not confuse people, which should be the priority?

I mean at this point, (F) being rerouted over the (G) for whatever reason isn't a "rare sight" and any passengers along the (G) line should get used to random (F) popping up.

I also think the towers or whoever monitors the train movements would want straightforward, easy-to-see signs it's a rerouted (F) and not an (F) signed up as a (G) rather than wasting ten seconds to determine if it's the right train, that way they can do whatever needs to be done with that rerouted train right away without delay.

How is the (B) suspended for this? The incident happened on 4 Av south of 36 St, so all that would be needed is to send the (R) to 9 Av and the (N) via West End. Trains on the (N) route already on sea beach to be turned at 8 Av and done. I would understand the (W) suspended since it’s part of the (N) and using the (W) trains as extra trains to provide service on the (N) line, but not the (B).

Because it could back up (N) trains, which can also delay (D) trains, which directly runs with the (B) trains.
