what happened this morning with the (7) train was UNACCEPTABLE! people have to get to work, and running one (7) train every 10 minutes and only to Queensboro Plaza does not cut it. And this is not the first time that GOs wrap up late for the Monday AM Rush. This should be a sign to GO planners to start them earlier, or not stack too much work so that the work has to run late. With Queens Blvd the way it is right now with only the (E) (F) (R) running along the corridor, the (7) really cannot afford any screwups .

Everything was a mess, especially with the express service being cut off from Queensboro to 61 street, which could’ve been used to run trains back on the express track to flushing, and turning around at willets point to run more trains, and avoiding congestion

A Broad St-bound (J) train became disabled on the Archer Avenue ramp. Service was suspended between Jamaica Ctr and 111 St. A rescue train is apparently being sent to evacuate the passengers or so I heard.

Emergency vehicles and helicopters are rushing to the area right now.

Part Suspended

There is no (J) train service between 111 St and Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer.

What's Happening?

We're investigating a mechanical problem on a train near Sutphin Blvd-Archer Av-JFK Airport.

The last stop on Jamaica-bound (J) trains is Broadway Junction, Crescent St, or 111 St.

Listen to announcements to hear how your train will operate.

Expect  delays in both directions.

Alternatives:

LIRR is cross-honoring MetroCard holders and OMNY users between Penn Station, Grand Central Madison, Atlantic Terminal and Jamaica.

For alternative service between Manhattan and Brooklyn, consider nearby (A)(C)(L) trains.

For service along Jamaica Ave to Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer, take a Q24 or Q56 bus.

For service to the AirTrain to JFK Airport, take an (A) or (E) train.

Transfer to an (A) train at Fulton St or Broadway Junction.

Transfer at Delancey St-Essex St to an (F) train for connections to (E) service in Queens.

UPDATE: It seems it was reported that the train - or I think one of the cars - started to smoke. The link here has a video where it can be seen passengers going into the rescue train from the front of the broken down train: https://abc7ny.com/queens-disabled-train-subway-j/13965462/

Yes apparently. Considering the MTA had sent a rescue train to evacuate passengers on that train, I don't think it was a usual "mechanical breakdown". The link to the news page I posted above stated there was some smoky conditions on that train, but I'm not sure if it's confirmed.

EDIT: (J) service is now suspended between Crescent St and Jamaica Ctr. The third rail was probably shut down.

I see.

EDIT: the train struck debris.

Part Suspended

There is no (B) and (Q) service between DeKalb Av and Brighton Beach ( (B) ) and Coney Island-Stillwell Av ( (Q) )

For service between Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr and Church Av, take a B41 bus making nearby stops.

For service between Church Av and Brighton Beach, take a B49 bus making nearby stops.

While I was initially posting, the (J) was also not taking passengers to/from Broad Street due to protests going on at street level, at the request of NYPD. Trains were terminating at Fulton Street. That ended a few minutes ago.

Multiple Changes

Trains Rerouted

(F) trains are severely disrupted in both directions while we address a mechanical problem on a train near Ditmas Av.

There is no northbound (F) service from Kings Hwy to Church Av.

Most (F) trains are running on the (D) line from Coney Island-Stillwell Av to Broadway-Lafayette St.

The last stop on some southbound (F) trains will be 2 Av, where they will turn for northbound service.

Some northbound (C) trains are running on the (F) line from Jay St-MetroTech to W 4 St-Wash Sq.

Listen to announcements to hear how your train will operate.

They can't run N/B (F) trains on the middle track on the Culver EL?

Not when you have a disabled train over a switch going from local to express track....

Isn't there a switch going from the local track to middle track Manthattan bound at Ave X? Unless the track maps on nycsubway.org is wrong.

If they went express at Ave X at least it would be more convenient for (F) riders vs sending most N/B (F) trains via the (D) line.
