Unplanned Subway Service Changes

Recommended Posts

No mention of the 12-9 @ Bleeker Street on the 13th where power was shut from Union Square to Brooklyn Bridge? I think it was a Northbound (5).

My second trip my train got turned at Grand Central...

There was a stalled Utica Av-bound (4) train at Atlantic this PM Rush, so (4) and (5) were turning at Bowling Green and even Brooklyn Bridge. I think a train or two from Livionia or Unionport was used to fill in the gap; when I got to the IRT platform from the (R) a completely empty (5) to Flatbush pulled up on the local track (The stalled (4) train was still on the express teack)

GO > 1 hr runs long:

Service Change Posted: 03/19/2012 5:02AM

Due to track maintenance at the Times Square-42nd Street Station, there is no (7) train service in both directions between the Times Square-42nd Street Station and the Queensboro Plaza Station.

This isn't the first time the (7) GO didn't hand back in time...

12-9: person under train.

I thought it meant person hit by train... when people get hit sometimes, they don't always end up under the train...

Due to switch problems at the DeKalb Avenue Station, uptown N train service is running express from the DeKalb Avenue Station to the Canal Street Station.

Please expect delays on the N train service at this time.

I think this some sort of error.there is a G.O tonight where the N is doing just what is says above.

Due to a signal problem at the Church Avenue Station:

There is no service on uptown (B)trains between the Brighton Beach Station and the DeKalb Avenue Station.

(Q) train service is running with delays in both directions.

Please expect delays in service on B and (Q)trains at this time.

Is this like a signal that caught on fire? First it was a smoke condition now signal problem

A fire destroyed some signal-related equipment in the area of Church/Beverly. Absolute blocks had to be setup between Parkside and Cortelyou. There was an uptown B stuck on the express track for hours.

Service Change  Posted: 04/11/2012 11:06AM

Due to a train with mechanical problems at the 33 St-Rawson Street Station, there is no 7  train service in both directions between the Times Square-42 Street Station and the Queensboro Plaza Station.

Please expect delays on 7 train service at this time.

Hmm. Why should this affect service at these stations?

I guess the train is actually between 33 St and QBP. Therefore there is only one track open between 33 St and QBP, so trains have to single-track and terminate at QBP.

Due to signal problems at the Court Square Station, there is no service on G trains between the Court Square Station and the Church Avenue Station in both directions.

Please expect delays in service on G trains at this time.

Wow the whole line is suspended just for signal problems on one end? Why do the people from Bedford nostrand or so have to suffer?

Because of a switch problem @ W4 2pm (A) & (C) were running on the (D) line from W4 to 59 and they had some (E)s running express from W4 to Bedford Park Blvd......that would have been a great photo moment.

Were they running Express in the Bronx too?

Due to a disabled train, there are no (2) or (5) trains in Brooklyn between Flatbush and Franklin Avenue, and I am pissed! Now I have to take the B44 to the (A) just to go downtown!

I was on a (5) that got turned at Bowling Green for that very reason (but I didn't know it at the time)

So I got on a (2), it was held at Franklin Av for the better part of 10 minutes but eventually we went to Flatbush like normal

I don't know what happened. The display boards suddenly changed to "Delay" for all trains. I just wish I had know what was going on when I left, because I could have just got on the bus and been there by the time we realized what was going on.

This is why i have a Scanner on me (Sometimes) to be able to know whats up in the system, when needed.

Rather then hearing "Due to a train problem" , I would like the truth.

Ok, maybe not everyone should know whats up, (Public wise), but there ARE people who want to know. I of course am not the only person who wants to hear the same thing. I know quiet a few people holding scanners and radios and listen to whats up in the system.

But I get what your saying.
