After getting to work an hour late, i find it odd how the MTA twitter account has no mention about the L train delays this morning. I was on a train this morning where around 8:25am; a stalled train between Montrose and Morgan ave was caused by automate brake failure. After 25 minutes the train moved onwards, at Montrose ave it was supposed to be express to 1st ave which didn’t happen, it made all of the stops. As the train approached Bedford ave, it got held up due to mechanical problems which were resolved in 10 minutes. Then at 3rd ave, the train was again stuck at the station due to technical problems. It took about 1 hour and 15 minutes to go from DeKalb Ave to 3rd ave. I don’t know what happen after 3rd ave because I took the M15 to work and noticed a lot of people were walking from 3rd ave to Union Square

Reposted it here for him.

Interesting:

Due to mechanical problems at Utica Av:

Downtown 4.png trains are terminating at Atlantic Av.

Some Downtown 4.png trains are terminating at 149 St and Bowling Green.

Downtown 5.png trains are running local between Atlantic Av and Franklin Av.

Please expect delays in both direction on 4.png and 5.png train service at this time.

I did not see this in the Service Advisories earlier this week, however today, from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, S/B (E) and (F) trains are running express, skipping Briarwood-Van Wyck Blvd and Sutphin Blvd.

Does anyone know why?

According to the press release, stop cable replacement.

"Due to someone requiring medical assistance at Parkside Avenue, downtown 2 & 3 trains are delayed at this time."

Guys, watch out for 2/3 trains on the Brighton. :)

Holy crap, we got a bridge closure due to a smoke condition at DeKalb Av:

  • all N/Q trains via R line between Canal St and Atlantic Av-Barclays Center
  • no B trains south of 34 St-Herald Sq
  • no D trains between 34 St-Herald Sq and Atlantic Av-Barclays Center

Not a good time for this to happen at all.

This looks huge! It's a bit contradictory too.

Due to a smoke condition at the Dekalb Avenue Station, n.png and q.png train service via the r.png from the Canal Street Station to the Dekalb Avenue Station in both directions.

b.png train service is running between the Bedford Park Blvd Station to the 34 Street- Herald Square Station.

No b.png train service in both directions from the 34 Street- Herald Square Station to the Brighton Beach Station.

d.png train service is running between the Atlantic Avenue- Pacific Street Station to the Coney Island- Stillwell Avenue Station and the 34 Street- Herald Square Station to the Norwood- 205 Street Street Station.

For alternate service, some downtown f.png train service via the g.png from the Queens Plaza Station to the Jay Street- MetroTech Station.

Downtown n.png train service is running from the 36 Street (BKLYN) Station to the Coney Island- Stillwell Avenue Station.

Uptown q.png train service running from Coney Island- Stillwell Avenue Station to the Prospect Park Station.

Downtown n.png, q.png and r.png train service will terminate at the 57 Street- 7 Avenue Station, the Canal Street Station and theWhitehall- South Ferry Station.

Please expect delays on the b.png, f.png, n.png, q.png and r.png train service at this time.

That's what happens when the BMT put all its eggs in one basket.

Sorry for the double post:

Here's what FDNY says about the cause of the condition:

BKLYN 2-ALARM FLATBUSH AVE, CABLES BURNING IN SUBWAY,

And an 'official' notice from the MTA:

Due to a smoke condition at the Dekalb Avenue Station customers should expect service to be impacted throughout the evening. (followed by the usual list of changes).

Clearly they did not proofread that.

First: I don't need to take the B63 to from Atlantic Av to 36 St if the (D) is running there.

Second: Why is the (F) going via the (G)?

Third: Those rerouted (F) s are not stopping at Jay St Metrotech.

Fourth: How/is the (R) running in Brooklyn?

It amazing how they divert the train into sections. I hope someone notice that the (R) train heading toward Brooklyn end in Manhattan but what about the (R) train heading toward Manhattan? Are they terminating at 36 street? 59 street and do shuttle mode?

Also they should suggested that go to nearest (2)(3)(4)(5) to Atlantic Ave. or take the (C) train to Franklin ave (S) and change train at Franklin Avenue (2)(3)(4)(5) or Prospect Park(Q).

With (F) AND (G) how that affect this situation? crowd control?
