limitednyc Posted August 10, 2013 Share #1 Posted August 10, 2013 will the q10 schedule be fully converted ( to artics) for the fall ?

Q90 Posted August 10, 2013 Share #3 Posted August 10, 2013 What Q43LTD said.
Cait Sith Posted August 10, 2013 Share #4 Posted August 10, 2013 I don't think the Q10 will be fully articulated, but schedule adjustments may have to be made. They are still trying to work things out on the Q6 end of things as well.
limitednyc Posted August 10, 2013 Author Share #5 Posted August 10, 2013 the q6 really only needs a handfull bassically for rush hrs for the lcl.
Mtatransit Posted August 10, 2013 Share #6 Posted August 10, 2013 no I don't think all of them. I think its going to be scattered around.
B35 via Church Posted August 11, 2013 Share #7 Posted August 11, 2013 The Q10 a fully articulated line... doubt it. The question I have is.... do they run artics on the Q10 during off peak hours?
BM5 via Woodhaven Posted August 11, 2013 Share #8 Posted August 11, 2013 The Q10 a fully articulated line... doubt it. The question I have is.... do they run artics on the Q10 during off peak hours? Yeah, but not as much as rush hours. I always see 40 footers middays but rarely a 60 footer. Rush hour you have more luck.
aemoreira81 Posted August 11, 2013 Share #9 Posted August 11, 2013 The Q10 a fully articulated line... doubt it. The question I have is.... do they run artics on the Q10 during off peak hours? Off-peak, yes. I don't know if they're run on weekends; I have seen them lined up on Sutphin Boulevard in the past across the street from JFK. NewFlyer 230 Posted August 11, 2013 Share #10 Posted August 11, 2013 They run 2-3 sets on Saturday and Sunday.
bobtehpanda Posted August 11, 2013 Share #11 Posted August 11, 2013 If there was a Queens route that need full artics, it wouldn't be the Q10.
Lennyj17 Posted August 11, 2013 Share #12 Posted August 11, 2013 Keep in mind those D60HF are not "spring chickens"... JFK is right to run them primarily during the Rush Hours... I agree even once the new Artics arrive the Q10 needing to be a full time Artic route is questionable. The Q6 yes, the Q111/Q113 yes, even the Q53 makes a better case for full time Artic. Q43LTD Posted August 11, 2013 Share #13 Posted August 11, 2013 I would put them on the Q60 as well.

bobtehpanda Posted August 12, 2013 Share #17 Posted August 12, 2013 If that's even a post . We already thoroughly disassembled the pointlessness of such a route in the Queens Bus Proposals thread. There's no reason to bring it back here.

That new Q70 could also use them... not only because of the crowds but to keep the hybrids off the highway and avoiding a fire like we've seen before when LGA hybrids have gone out for service on LI, only there'd be passengers on board

bobtehpanda Posted August 12, 2013 Share #23 Posted August 12, 2013 Yeah that would be the Q66 +SBS service The current Q66 is not under consideration by DOT at all as a SBS route (not even for a potential future Phase III), so that's just foam. Cait Sith Posted August 12, 2013 Share #24 Posted August 12, 2013 That new Q70 could also use them... not only because of the crowds but to keep the hybrids off the highway and avoiding a fire like we've seen before when LGA hybrids have gone out for service on LI, only there'd be passengers on board I think it'll be using the service roads for some part of the line as well. I dont know why everyone is so worried about the route using the highway especially when its using the highway.....there is always A LOT of traffic on the BQE and Grand Central! And the stint on the highway doesn't seem to be any longer than 7-10 minutes. They'll most likely be running the NGs with the luggage racks on the line. With that logic, the current Q10 shouldnt be using the Van Wyck/JFK Access roads with the hybrids!
Q101viaSteinway Posted August 12, 2013 Share #25 Posted August 12, 2013 no it will be on highway itself
