What exactly is a seized communication door?

The train doors that slide open between cars.  Sometimes the inside latch gets jammed up and may require a lot of work to be fixed.  Old days they used to large hammer the outside edge to dislodge the thing but then couldn't get the door to restore to its frame.  That required an entire new door assembly which required some of the interior panels to be taken off then returned and usually with paint repair etc etc.

Like stated, probably not worth it at this stage.

I just saw an 8-car set of R32s ending with 3781 out of service on the northbound express track at 42-PABT. Could they be going into retirement at 207?

I saw that same train, it probably was the train that hit a bicycle in Brooklyn between euclid and Broadway junction.

* The remaining R160B siemens units for Coney Island may be on the range around 9000s / 9098-9102.

* There is at least 4 R46s left on the (R) but time is ticking.

Just to clarify, those R46s were on the (R)'s that end at 59th in the morning right?

This leaves now only 48 R46s at Jamaica (please confirm) and 160 R160Bs.

The (Q) must now likely be 1/2 R46, 1/2 R160.

out of 160 R160Bs

- 40 set aside for the (N) (Spares or in service)

- 120 are on the (Q). (assuming at least 20 are in the yard as spares), then only 10 R160Bs are on the (Q) and the rest is R46s

by the end of this week or early next week, the R46s will be gone from Jamaica

They could have it done by tomorrow afternoon if they move 3 sets today and 3 sets tomorrow

I've heard 52 from others, but in any event that leaves 6 sets...

I would therefore expect final CIY assignments to be the following:

382 R46

148 R68

200 R68A

100 R160B (Siemens)

Another question I have: would some R46s have to return to Pitkin if the R32s retire?
