Subject : Medical Hold Clearance

 Name:

Last 4 of SSN:

Exam Number:

List Number:

Title Position:

Below all of the above, briefly state the reason for appointment, ex: was put on medical hold for blah blah blah. Visited the doctor and have documentations from my doctor clearing me for blah blah blah. I’m requesting an appointment so that I can complete the medical process.

I did excatly what I said above on the Friday and got an email the Monday to come in the following day for clearance. After I got the white paper, I had to do a 2nd drug test. Now waiting for the email for final processing. GOOD LUCK.  Keep updates.

I sent email Friday lol it's Monday. Can't shake the feeling I'll miss this opportunity. I'll try to go in the building tomorrow but I know they don't do walk ins. They've made a string of errors my two days there that's why I'm worried bc now it's in the hands of people like that. For the drug test they put my paperwork in a pile and left it, when someone was leaving at 4pm they asked if I was seen I said no and they got 4 people looking for it. I waited 9 hours. Then the day of the medical my list number and social was wrong on their paperwork, the part that's hand written. That's why I don't trust them.

Hello! I am new to Transit forums, I pray I am doing this correctly!

I took exam 1100 on October 9th, I was called in for the drug test and past job review. Then I came in for the medical but was placed on hold due to concerns of sleep apnea.

I have a written note from a sleep specialist stating that I am fine.

I emailed the provided email on Nov. 23. But I haven't heard anything yet. I wonder if I should send another email or wait it out.

I wonder if anyone else here from 1100 was put on medical hold and cleared it up yet.

Hey bro you know how long it took for them to get back to you after medical hold? They're not answering my emails or phone calls.

You should walk in.  That’s what I did when I was on medical hold.  But most of all they do not see you without an appointment.

I want to do a walk in tomorrow who did you see. What should I do? There won't be a place for me to sign in. They're not answering emails.

Try (347) 643-8195 and (347) 643-8223 if you don’t have those #. Leave voicemail with name and # on both of no one answers. Someone will get back to you in a few days.

TA is really good, are you already in MTA or you in process.

Still in the process. Took both tests. TA called first. From what I understand it's the same exact benifts. Just the depots might be different. BTW 🇹🇹

I emailed all week, never got a response. I'm getting worried because they never answered the phone.

Everybody experience is different. My nest advice for you is to wait especially if you already have a job. Just wait until they call you. Its going to be a journey. I may be repeating my self but they have been calling me right before the pandemic hit. jan 2020 and thats when my DL was just 1.5 yrs and was told to wait until june 2021 and from june 2021 to now march 2022 i have been going to 180 livingston so many times just to fill out paperwork. Thats why its best to take more than one bus operator exam or any exam rather. I waited so long to get in that I turned down the opportunity last october 2021 and now i am going down there on wednesday.

the process isnt really that long if youre in fair health. basically 3 weeks to a month. the road maybe a lil rough for the men that arent really in great shape or suffer from co morbidities. geesh.

I think it is ill advised to just show up there though.

Do NOT go down to 180 Livingston if you don't have an appointment. You will waste your time. The only thing you can do is wait.

And I know it's not your fault either, I don't know what transit is doing but their scheduling has been horrendous ever since COVID. They wait until the absolute last second to email you to come in.

I disagree. I was able to correct a major issue by going down in person and being pro active because I want this job. To each its own.

So TA has the NYCER pension program. It’s a pension program that most NYC workers have. So you have the option to go to a different city job and keep your pension if you go to TA. You won't lose time in service. OA has a different pension program that’s not part of NYCER. So if you are OA and you go to a different city job you have to start from the beginning.

Let TA be your 1st pick.  It’s a Civil Service position, if at anytime there’s a strike they have to find other civil service positions to place you, they cannot lay you off.  We were told that at Zerega.

No waiting dear you have to be pro active with them at 180.  I use to be at my sister when she told me I have to keep calling and emailing them.  Eventually I had to do just that.  Trust and believe they forget you sometimes.  I had the royal run around, sending emails on top of emails even to the big boss,  that’s when I got answers.

A few of the HR people today told quite a few of the if "they dont have an answer for you particular question they wont answer the calls emails or walk ins" if your name is not on the list  and youre not there for what they specifically requested for..... good luck i guess. feb 18 i was there whole day, lost a day of work and now today 6:30am to 6:30pm just now coming in. you think theyre gonna assist walk-ins. they re low on staff already, i cant imagine being the person on the receiving of those desperate emails. I am no sure how fast we want them o move but the process is relatively the same especially if your drug test and or medical is good. oct 7 -oct 24 (resigned 0100) and now for 1100 feb 18 to march 13) this time they only had to re instate me cant imagine what time i would leave if i had to fingerprints.

guys please be patient especially if they call you for drug test to start the process. youre going to spend the whole day there. as well each time you go. please dont be in a rush to go there cu there is a lot of paperwork and a lot people dont have reading comprehension skills to get through. plus you have to be careful with the pension form and all the other forms.

Well said, sadly you are not lying. I cleared my medical hold last Tuesday and had to redo a 2nd drug test. Til this day I’m still waiting for the email. Was hoping to get into the class starting on the 13th. Well I called today and the lady said no result is back yet and right now they are not taking anyone for any classes. So that’s the reason I haven’t been reached out to yet. Also was told to call back at the end of the month. Advice to all who already went in to do pre-employment, take the opportunity to revise the pretrip material. This site is very resourceful, I found a lot of stuff that’s sorta preparing me, mind you I have only my B permit.

Hello there. Can you please share the pretrip materials or anything else that may be helpful?

This is very untrue.  They’re hiring every 2 weeks.  They just don’t want you guy to keep calling etc.  they told me the same thing meanwhile they were hiring the whole time.

I think it is every week, i know the lady who reinstated me said there's a class for the 3/20/2022. I don't know maybe its my planets and stars aligning cuz the employment process was fairly easy going to me.
