PATCOman 196 Posted December 9, 2007 Share #4 Posted December 9, 2007 In no particular order: 1. 14 Street- Union Square: I like how its so unique: offset platforms, a huge curve, gap fillers, abandoned side platforms. 2. 125 Street- Broadway: I like how the tracks are almost level, but the land goes down in a valley. 3. 168 Street- I like the unique design 4. 181 Street- same as 168 5. Dyckman Street- even though I have never waited for an uptown 1 there, I'm pretty sure that you can see all the way down to 157 or 168 Street!. Also I like how most of the station is on an embankment while the extreme north end is elevated 6. 145 Street and Broadway- I like the yard at the south end of the station, and the northbound track merging with the middle track at the north end of the station. 7. 96 Street and Broadway- very unique, I like the abandoned side platforms and the light going through the grates 8. 116 Street and Broadway- I like the way the light shines through the grates in the summertime and the 3 track bored tunnel at the north end of the station 9. East Tremont Avenue- excellent view and you can even see the 6 train from there as well as Simpson Street too 10. South Ferry/ City Hall- loop stations are rare 11. 72 Street- like the unique station house 12. 42 Street- Times Square (Shuttle)- like how there is still proof of it being a local station and the track connection with the West side line 13. Chambers Street- like the split level at the south end of the station 14 Borough Hall (East Side)- like the appearance 15. 174 Street- I like the curve of the station Note that the majority are contract 1 IRT stations (all built by 1910)

4 Train 0 Posted December 10, 2007 Author Share #8 Posted December 10, 2007 Cool, good selections. I going to have to pick Grand Army Plaza. I really dunno to why I like it, I just like how it is just a simple station. Besides it serves the 2,3, and during late nites the 4 train.
