R33WF Posted February 4, 2013 Share #1205 Posted February 4, 2013 Been taking a brake from building my route and then got bored so I did this. Please note the station name on the pillers will not be in my route.
GreeneggsnPelham Posted February 5, 2013 Share #1206 Posted February 5, 2013 (edited) trains provide the only B'way-7 Av service right now, from 34 to 137 St. Let me tell you, the Manhattan Viaduct was interesting and challenging to build, but I did it. Route pics: Train laid up at 137 St Looking south at 137 St towards the Manhattan Valley Viaduct's 135 St portal: Manhattan Valley Viaduct 122 St Portal (looking Downtown) Uptown view of the Viaduct's 122 St Portal. If you squint (lol) you can see 125 St in the distance 96 St/Broadway (Looking Uptown) Lenox/Broadway lines' Junction: to the left, dipping underneath, and to the right. Enjoy! -A Edited February 5, 2013 by GreeneggsnPelham
Brighton Express Posted February 6, 2013 Share #1207 Posted February 6, 2013 Nice work ace!!! You need to teach me how to do those portals
GreeneggsnPelham Posted February 6, 2013 Share #1208 Posted February 6, 2013 (edited) I used the AJS Portal Walls, and just lifted up the surrounding ground area to make it look like it's coming out of a deep valley. The Manhattan Valley Viaduct is about 82.4 feet above the ground level, so instead of lifting up the tracks, I kept them level, and dropped the surrounding area 25 meters. And as promised---progress! service now extended to 168 St full time. Tracks north of 168 (not built yet!) used for layups and the single crossover for switching. Some trains lay up at 137 as well. 168 St, overhead view (notice the elevations) 145 St, Downtown Platform 137 St Yard: View from 145 St View from 137 St Platform View @ 137 Enjoy! -A Edited February 6, 2013 by GreeneggsnPelham
GreeneggsnPelham Posted February 6, 2013 Share #1209 Posted February 6, 2013 Last one of the night: Layups north of 168 St with appropriate home signals. Left one is G-Y-R on the top head, and only Y-R on the bottom (diverge moves only), and the right is G-Y-R on top, and only G-R on bottom (no diverge move available since it's a trailing point switch). Eventually these tracks will go further up and into the Bronx, which I hope to get to tomorrow afternoon! Enjoy and have a great night folks! -A
GreeneggsnPelham Posted February 7, 2013 Share #1210 Posted February 7, 2013 (edited) Well, we aren't in the Bronx yet, but at least the has reached it's final (northerly) Manhattan stop. Service now runs from 215 St to 34 St, all times. Trains can lay up on the middle track or downtown track via switches north of 215. Also, to ease congestion, one-third of the trains terminate at Dyckman St, and use that middle track for storage, all the way up to 215 St, so there's plenty of room! Service Update I re-did the Manhattan Valley Viaduct using Ish6's excellent subway items Dyckman St & Fort George Tunnel Credit for the tracks goes to Samplaire! Go check them out! 207 St, and B-Div yard lead 207 to Dyckman, looking south 215 St and layups Enjoy! Tonight, and into tomorrow, construction will begin south of 34 St, to Chambers St. Weekend work will add service as an express between 96 and 14, and have all trains terminate there so the line can be built from Chambers, south to the Ferry, and to the East River tunnels into Brooklyn. -A Edited February 7, 2013 by GreeneggsnPelham

lupojohn Posted February 8, 2013 Share #1212 Posted February 8, 2013 2 things: this is so cool and I wish I could do this. I'd be busy for hours. Threxx Posted February 8, 2013 Share #1213 Posted February 8, 2013 This is a modern day map, so I'm not sure it'd fit in, but there are a few people making vintage maps.
GreeneggsnPelham Posted February 9, 2013 Share #1214 Posted February 9, 2013 Threxx is correct, this is a modern day map, however when doing the Mega Route, the JFK Express is possible. But, this is A Division, and it only stretches as far east as New Lots Avenue on the , so no JFK Connection. BStyles is in charge of the official release of a B-Division route, and I'm still debating on whether or not to release the mega-route, as it's a personal project at the moment. -A

Bstyles Posted February 10, 2013 Share #1219 Posted February 10, 2013 Take the train to the plane...loved that jingle. Anywho, in the meantime, I'm still working on the newer models of the elevated stations. The first pic is a revamp of the beta versions released last year:The second is a newer BMT/IRT variant:A couple of changes were made to the newer models that weren't featured in other models:-More textures instead of faces are being used, generating a cleaner product.-The under structure of the platform has been cut out and girders have put in their place, this way it actually sits on the elevated supports, as opposed to floating in midair.-The railings will be updated shortly; exits will also be a feature of these platform objects.-Two new elevated supports, for stations, of course, will be made in conjunction with these new station models.-The new stations will follow the name coding put in place for the Subway Stations and Tunnels (for example, A, B, C, D, etc.).More models on the way. Stay tuned!
GreeneggsnPelham Posted February 10, 2013 Share #1220 Posted February 10, 2013 @Strain, I'll be providing a link later on tonight. Apparently, there are different versions of the link floating, so everyone's got different errors (minor texture things) on different stations, so I have to look at all the stations on my computer, and make sure they're error-free (and fix any lingering texture issues which still escape me from time to time), before doing a CDP and uploading it for you guys. The platform issue and a lot of texturing and attachment point issues were brought to my attention and have since been fixed. Also, the changeable texture/editable sign I posted a pic of a few weeks back is almost finished, I need to do some variations that exactly fit the subway tunnels. Also, the name pillars R33WF showed on his route were actually in development by BStyles & myself as far back as last fall, but it never got off the ground--those will be available too. I'm going to be releasing the textures for the mega-overhead sign in portions, because I have about 100 done, and about twice that to go, so rather than make you guys wait for all 300, I'm going to slowly release them. First out will be all of the IRT lines. Also guys, if anyone can please please play around with triggers (I know another user is doing that, his name escapes me right now), and see if you can get the timer signals to work as their real life counterparts, that'd be excellent. As a Trainz Veteran, there still is a LOT to the game that I'm discovering and learning--never assume you know all! Lastly, I know the black background on my R33 & R62 rollsigns is an eyesore (credit it to severe n00b status two years ago!), and I have been meaning to fix those--so that's another quick weekend project I will be tackling and having ready by mid-week. Also, no pics taken yet, but service has been extended down to Chambers St. service is still not up yet, and will be implemented once the Lenox Branch is done from 148 to 96, and the Bronx leg is connected north of 135 St. I'm surprised at how quickly route building is going on this--but the dreadful signalling and outdoor scenery is laughing behind a dark corner somewhere because it knows I'm partially dreading that part! Excellent work from my main man B, as always! Enjoy your weekend fellas! -A

GreeneggsnPelham Posted February 10, 2013 Share #1224 Posted February 10, 2013 All you have to do is open up the pic files and add an LED pic/font to the front. I have over 70+ R32 textures, and it's cumbersome to re-do them all. There are only about 25-30 of the R62 ones and they're easier to fix, so I'll have to respectfully decline. @Kendall: Doors automatically open and close when you use passenger-enabled stations. -A
