BreeddekalbL Posted January 10, 2013 Share #3255 Posted January 10, 2013 i think he means that in a hypothetical that because of the residents the MTA decided to bow down to the flushing residents and delay the G.O and thus a cause of the derailment Main Street to Queensboro Plaza call in emergency shuttles between queensboro plaza and hunters point extra service runs 24-7 till service fully restored
IntExp Posted January 11, 2013 Share #3256 Posted January 11, 2013 Alright, lemme try. But don't lynch me if I make a mistake.... A police investigation is currently ongoing on a very busy weekend in Lexington Avenue - 59th Street. Due to that, the station was closed. What should you do? Depends. LL or UL? If it's on the LL, here I go.... trains rerouted on the local track between 42nd and 125th. Trains rerouted via from Nevins to 149-GC/149-3rd Ave. If TPH is at capacity at 7th Ave, train runs between Dyre and 180th. Train service operates normally, however w/ delays. UL... Trains run normal service Trains - See above trains - express between 42nd and 125th. Because of Flushing residents complaining about a necessary G.O., a train has derailed in Steinway. Reroute trains. Can't single track in the tube, so service is suspended between TSQ and QBP. Extend service to Astoria, Exp suspended. Cross honor between Penn/LIC/Hunters and Woodside?
JubaionBx12+SBS Posted January 11, 2013 Share #3257 Posted January 11, 2013 A plague of locusts (like in Sim City) invades the Lexington Avenue line during rush hour. People need to be moved from these parasitic creatures and resources are needed to get rid of the locusts. The entire line from 86th Street to Brooklyn Bridge has been affected. Service must be suspended entirely along the line for at least an hour and afterwards full service cannot be restored for at least 24 hours as crews may need to be on call immediately if any more locusts show. Replace the suspended/reduced service.

itmaybeokay Posted January 11, 2013 Share #3261 Posted January 11, 2013 Can't single track in the tube, so service is suspended between TSQ and QBP. Extend service to Astoria, Exp suspended. Cross honor between Penn/LIC/Hunters and Woodside? I mean, it wouldn't handle the full volume of riders but they single track in the tubes all the time. Every time they have a "All trains stop at the queens/manhattan bound platform" for Vernon/Jackson or Hunterspoint. There's a double crossover just before the line goes underground at hunterspoint, and another before grand central. Terminate at QBP <7>Trains operate every 10 minutes between Times Sq and Flushing Main St. Hunterspoint Ave and Vernon-Jackson: All trains board at the queens bound platform (assuming the derailment is in the manhattan bound tube)
