Next:

 

Montauge Street (including the connection to the Nassau Street line) has reopened, but major problems around Myrtle Avenue in both directions have halted ALL service on The Manhattan Bridge.  Only the tunnel can be used to get to Manhattan.

 

In addition, the loop at South Ferry somehow got switched to where trains coming from the 7th Avenue line can ONLY go to the Lexington Avenue line going uptown and can not access 7th Avenue going back (the "new" SF station is still not available as it continues to be rebuilt from Sandy damage). 

 

Also at the same time, the Rutgers Street tunnel has broken rails that forces it to be shut down (though York Street and East Broadway on each end of the tunnel can be used).

Eh, I'll take a shot here

 

(1) - suspended between Chambers St and South Ferry

(B) - suspended

(C) - some southbound trains terminate at World Trade Ctr

(D) - split service; 1) 205 St to 2 Av, 2) Atlantic Av to Stillwell Av

(F) - via Cranberry in both directions

(N)(Q) - via Montague in both directions, some southbound (Q) trains terminate at 34 St, northbound at Prospect Park

The MTA faces a HUGE budget gap. As a result, many workers are fired until the budget gap is closed, so that means less NTT's. Cut down service and choose a fleet for each line, and also change intervals to suit demand, while saving enough money to recover as quick as possible.

(C) Some trains go to Parsons/Archer via QBE. Increased Service.

(E) Suspended.

(S) - Rockaway shuttle extended to Euclid Avenue, shuttle service also serves Mott Avenue.

(D) via CPL.

(F) Some trains go via Crosstown and terminate at Court Sq, all other trains via QBL. Increased Service.

(M) Metro - Essex Shuttle.

 

(N) via 4th Avenue local.

(Q) terminates at 57th Street - 7th Avenue.

(S) Shuttle between Bay Ridge and 36th Street.

 

(G) Limited service (3 tph during rush hour) all trains to 71st Street - Continental. No (G) Service during middays, late nights, and weekends.

I don't think Suspending the (1) would be a good idea...

To Manhattan: (F) trains have to go to the Cranberry Street tracks/tunnel

From Manhattan: (A) and (C) trains are switched to the (F) track towards Jay Street.

At the same time, all trains using the Montauge Tunnel are switched to the Nassau/Centre Street Line coming from Brooklyn (trains coming from Manhattan are unaffected by this).

(R) Manhattan trains go via Manhattan Bridge.

Some trains originate at Whitehall (Man-bound), Shuttle bus between Court and Atlantic.

 

(Man) (F) via 8th Avenue local from Jay to W4.

Shuttle buses from York - Jay, E-Bway - Bway Laffayette.

 

(Bk) (A)(C) terminate at Church Avenue.

Lots of nonstop shuttle service from Jay to Hoyt - Schemerhorn.

 

(E) go via 63rd and 6th Avenue local from W4 to Jamaica Parsons/Archer

 

After 34th Street (A)(C) go via 6th Avenue express to Columbus, then their normal route.

Whoo! What a doozy!

 

WTC bnd (E) trains terminate at Briarwood with service split between IND Archer Avenue and IND Hillside Avenue. Use Jamaica-Van Wyck to layup, however, will require a level junction.

(F) trains run express between Kew Gardens to Parsons Blvd.

Shuttle bus runs between Parsons Blvd and Kew Gardens making all local stops at 5 minute intervals.

(A) trains run via the (F) from Jay Street to Church Avenue, and between Utica Avenue/Broadway Junction and Ozone/Rockaways via local.

Shuttle bus runs between Jay Street to Utica Avenue making all local stops at 5 minute intervals.

(C) trains terminate at 2nd Avenue. 

Shuttle bus between W4th Street to WTC making all local stops at 5 minute intervals.

Half of Manhattan bnd (R) trains run via Manhattan Bridge. Other half terminates at Court Street and resumes service (as if it was like this) at Whitehall Street.

 

Wow. Took me 30 minutes just to do this.

Situation

Sonic, Mario, Mega Man, and their friends are battling Eggman, Wily, and Browser (they secretly became allies with each other). The three enemies dispatched a ton robots and soldiers into the city. The NYPD is also involved in this battle. This also includes the US Air Force, US Army, and the  National Guard. Bill de Blasio has declared a state of emergency in all of Manhattan, as well as governor Andrew Cuomo. The heat of the battle is in Midtown between 34th Street and Central Park South (which includes Times Square, Herald Square-Macy's-Empire State Building, Bryant Park, Grand Central, and Rockefeller Center). 

 

How would subway and bus service be affected between 34th Street and Central Park South?

WAY out there, but (doing subway only, this assumes the Montauge Street tunnel has re-opened.when this happens):

(A) runs in two sections:
Lefferts Boulevard OR Far Rockaway to Chambers Street with LIMTED service to West 4th Street (6th Avenue Level, such trains stop at Spring Street) AND between 125th-207th Streets (local).

B/D/F from Brooklyn all terminate at West 4th Street.

(B) also runs local in Brooklyn and replaces the (Q) between DeKalb Avenue and Coney Island at all times.

 

(C) is suspended.

(D) also runs 125th Street-205th Street (express in Manhattan)
 

(E) runs Jamaica Center to Lexington Avenue ONLY!!

 

Some (F) trains from Coney Island run as follows:
via the (G) between Bergen Street and Queens Plaza
OR running via the A to Chambers Street A platform.
OR terminating at Delancey Street or York Street.

Some (F) trains from 179th Street run with the (E) to Lexington Avenue and terminate there while others run to Coney Island as noted above.

(G) is extended to 71st-Continental to replace the (M) in Queens.

(M) is temporarily combined with the (R) and replaces the (R) in Brooklyn, running to 95th Street. 

(N) runs in two sections:
From Coney Island via the tunnel and terminating at Canal Street (tunnel level).
Lexington Avenue-60th Street to Astoria.

(7) trains run to Hunters Point Avenue ONLY!!

NEXT:

 

A water main break on the west end of Central Park South between 7th and 8th Avenues has created a big problem for the Broadway, Broadway-7th Avenue and 8th Avenue lines in that area.  Service east of 7th Avenue at CPS is unaffected by this.

Okay...

(1)(2)(3)- Service in 2 sections: Between Flatbush, East New York, and South Ferry to Times Square. 96th Street to Bronx terminals. Shuttle bus service provided between Times Square and 96th Street via Broadway. All running with limited service.

(A)(D)-Service in two sections.  (A) between Columbus Circle and Queens terminals. 145th Street to 207th Street-Inwood. Northbound has limited service.  (D) between 145th Street to 205th Street-Norwood. 59th Street-Columbus Circle to Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue. Stops at DeKalb Avenue after crossing Manhattan Bridge. Selected number of trains run via the Brighton Line as an express with the  (Q) .

(B)(C) - Service is suspended until further notice. Therefore, as of result, the  (A) will run local in Brooklyn, and the  (D) will have selected service to run on the Brighton Line. In Manhattan, the (A) will also make local stops north of 145th Street.

I have another scenario.

 

An assassination attempt has been made on Sonic and Mario at City Hall after their heroic actions of saving Obama days earlier at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel from a bomb attack by an ISIS. Right now, all of Lower Manhattan (generally the Financial District, Civic Center, and Chinatown) is under state of emergency, and the hunt is on for the assassin responsible.*

 

How would subway, bus, and ferry service be affected?
