Guest lance25 Posted December 14, 2011 Share #10 Posted December 14, 2011 In an effort to keep this from becoming yet another thread where people list stations they do or don't like, please give an explanation of why you think the station is ugly. I don't care why; just give a reason, no matter how succinct it is.
overclocked Posted December 14, 2011 Share #11 Posted December 14, 2011 Church Avenue ( - Poor lighting and black colored walls make this station very dark, even in midday. These walls themselves are looking bad, with all water stains and graffiti. The ceiling is constantly leaking and platforms are cracked in many spots. Also there are no protective anti slip yellow stripes on the platform edges. That pretty much sums up the station.

B35 via Church Posted December 14, 2011 Share #16 Posted December 14, 2011 Hello,i live in the bronx and have a few here like d train 205th street! Do you know of any others? The rest of the members here will list many others... but I just wanted to point out that 205th IMO is the ugliest looking station in the system..... 21st st is a close 2nd on my list..... Church Avenue - Poor lighting and black colored walls make this station very dark, even in midday. These walls themselves are looking bad, with all water stains and graffiti. The ceiling is constantly leaking and platforms are cracked in many spots. Also there are no protective anti slip yellow stripes on the platform edges. That pretty much sums up the station. Outside of the yellow platform edge strips, you just described the south end of the Atlantic av. w/ that description also !
67thAve Posted December 14, 2011 Share #17 Posted December 14, 2011 In my opinion, it is a 4-way tie. The ugliest stations are: 21st Street-Van Alst Broadway Chambers Street Grant Avenue
overclocked Posted December 14, 2011 Share #18 Posted December 14, 2011 Outside of the yellow platform edge strips, you just described the south end of the Atlantic av. w/ that description also ! IMO, Atlantic avenue looks way better, it's those dense columns that make it look bad. If anything close to Church av, aside from some of the mentioned stations, it's Jay St/Metrotech . slantr40 Posted December 15, 2011 Share #21 Posted December 15, 2011 Atlantic Avenue, south side on (. Dark, dank, thick columns, low ceiling, and very claustrophobic. Feels like an afterthought.
LTA1992 Posted December 15, 2011 Share #22 Posted December 15, 2011 Why do stations have to be ugly? I have yet to see an ugly station. Poorly maintained and aged would be a more fitting term. What is this, PIX11?

Grand Concourse Posted December 16, 2011 Share #25 Posted December 16, 2011 Canal Street doesn't go there anymore and the western or the formerly southbound only platform isn't that bad. It was the closed eastern one that was terrible. Canal on the looks fairly good compared to 53rd/7th on the .
