Some are yes, and some (4) sets are running on the (6). Some trains are laying up at 125 Street but because it's so jam packed with holiday tourists going to the airport (6) trains are goin down to Brooklyn Bridge.

Unless that was a (4) or (5) set up as a (6) like an (N) did a while ago while running on the west end (D), I find it unlikely.

What airport? And what (6) train to Brooklyn Bridge? And what (4) set on the (6)?!?!

The (6) is only running between 125th and Pelham Bay on the (6) line as (6) trains running on the (6) line.

The (4) is running *some* additional trains as (4) trains running on the (4) line, with uptown (4) trains making local stops after Grand Central on the (4) line.

The (5) is running *some* additional trains as (5) trains, making local stops in Manhattan on the (5) line, and terminating at the Bowling Green station on the (5) line.

As for earlier, I only believe you on the crowding, not on seeing (6) trains going all the way to Brooklyn Bridge.

Me too, if anything that just makes for more confusion. Imagine a countdown clock saying a local 5 train is approaching and it's displaying 6 instead?

What the heck is this G.O. all about? All it looks like is railfan attraction. This doesn't allow much construction to happen either. What is the point of this G.O.?

P.S. It is also aggravating Javier.

They are working on the tubes between Manhattan and The Bronx. One of them is closed off, which is the purpose of this G.O.

One of the underwater tubes between 3rd Avenue and 125th Street is out of service, and the City Hall Loop is also out of service. If the loop was in service, we would have probably seen either split (6) service and limited/no (5) service, or the same G.O. with (5) trains turning at Brooklyn Bridge instead.

Do downtown (5) trains become uptown (6) trains after 5am? It seems SubwayTime doesn't show any uptown (5) trains leaving Bowling Green (downtown trains are still ending there) but they do show extra uptown (6) trains (which are leaving Brooklyn Bridge long before the first downtown (6) arrives there).  Usually MTA would send all remaining trains back to Dyre at this time.

All tubes are being used. If it was loop, (4), (5) can run local while the (6) express to Grand Central, or extend to Bowling Green.

That's weird... Maybe they slipped some R62A/R142A's in overnight and ran them as (5) trains with (6) crews/equipment or something.

The GO is supposed to be run again next weekend too.

The southbound Harlem River tube between 3 Av-138 St to 125 St was out of service. That's why the downtown 6 trains were also running express between Hunts Point Av and 3 Av.

Next weekend, the northbound tube will be closed and Pelham Bay Park-bound trains will run express through Hunts Point Av.

I know (6) trains can crossover easily on the downtown track. Why have uptown trains run express? Edited by MysteriousBtrain
