Planned Work
6.pngThe last stop for alternate trains headed toward Pelham Bay Park is 3 Av-138 St

Days, 9:30 AM to 3 PM, Wed to Fri, until Feb 6
Please allow additional travel time in the Bronx.

So, given there is no express service for regular service or for service changes, is there an express segment in the Bronx now or did they deside to just get rid of express service middays for now?

Trains are still alternating between terminating at Parkchester and Pelham Bay Park. Trains designated for the latter just run local in the Bronx. Answering your question, no, there is no midday express service on the Pelham line with this service change in place.

No actually those trains that ends at 3rd Avenue are the ones that usually goes to Parkchester. When they do this G.O usually, they only go to either Pelham Bay Park or 3rd Avenue.

Exactly. When this G.O. happens, this usually means that there is a certain section that has to go express due to maintenance. But maybe parkchester's track needs to be fixed? (doubt it though)

There's work being done in one of the tubes between Bronx and Manhattan whenever this G.O is in effect. They usually close one of them off and have trains from Woodlawn single track south of 149th Street.

Well its going to be a pain for anyone using CPW or Fulton Street every weekend in January with the (C) running every 15 minutes. Just wow.

And this is why if possible what I would do is combine the (M) with the Manhattan portion of the (B) and have the (M) run as it normally would to 47-50 before going up CPW to 145.

<sarcasm>While we are at it, we should send every other (3) train to E180 or even Dyre on the weekends, since they seemingly want to make the (5) a weekday only service. Late nights, we'll just run a shuttle from Dyre to Times Square and put the people at 148 and 145/Lenox back on the shuttle buses.</sarcasm>

I think everyone has already had a turn telling you how it's such a bad idea. Doing that kind of switching on a trunk line is a cardinal sin.

which is the better wallyhorse proposal

Vote (1) for C/M

Vote (2) for B/M

Vote (3) for extra service to the Aqueduct

Vote (4) for Black V train

Vote (5) for any other proposal of his you can think of.

I'm partial to extending the (R) to 179 Street and making the (F) express all the way. While we're at it, extend the (G) too and put the (M) back to Broad Street.
