SoSpectacular Posted January 7, 2011 Share #626 Posted January 7, 2011 This is the bag I currently carry my camera around in. Daniel, you've seen me with the damn thing but you could use a good bag for that camera All my lenses, their hoods, other equipment go in there and it's a small bag, only ran me 40 bucks though.
553 Bridgeton Posted January 7, 2011 Share #627 Posted January 7, 2011 A suggestion if I may add, is perhaps to try and go to camera stores, like J&R on Park Row, 17th Street Photo, Adorama, B&H, etc etc to name a few. Perhaps see what each store has to offer and maybe compare prices. And stores like those are glad to help you find what you're looking for. I usually do my camera and accessory shopping from J&R and most of the folks there are great, some know their stuff, and I usually find what I'm looking for. Cant go wrong with J&R P. I buy my stuff from there but I also do buy somethings from B&H. J&R have some great ppl there.

R160 Posted January 12, 2011 Share #629 Posted January 12, 2011 I'm looking to buy a new SD/SDHC card for my T1i. I've tried shooting in 1080p and I can only record for about 18 seconds. The card I currently have is: Gigware 8 GB Class 2 From my research, it looks like I need a Class 6 or 10. I think that I'm going to use this card for only video. Thanks in advance!

R160 Posted January 12, 2011 Share #631 Posted January 12, 2011 Thanks. Any reason you didn't recommend a Class 10?
rr4567 Posted January 12, 2011 Share #632 Posted January 12, 2011 Thanks. Any reason you didn't recommend a Class 10? Class 10 is just a gimmick. I have a Class 2 SD card that operates at class 10 speeds. And besides, I don't think any camera can properly utilize the 10 in Class 10 anyway.

Messino Posted January 15, 2011 Share #635 Posted January 15, 2011 woops. Yeah you need a sdhc reader edit: You might not need one if your current reader can read cards larger than 2gb.

If your SD card reader works for anything above 4GB, no. If not, then yes.

R160 Posted January 20, 2011 Share #643 Posted January 20, 2011 Well the SD card came yesterday. It says it can record for up to 4 hours which is great. I tested it last night and it recorded for 15 minutes and 4 seconds before it stopped. So far so good!

553 Bridgeton Posted February 2, 2011 Share #645 Posted February 2, 2011 Nikon P100, there a few Canons out there, Panasonic, Sony. All with HD in a price range of 150-300. And are SLR Like.
SoSpectacular Posted February 2, 2011 Share #646 Posted February 2, 2011 For that price range expect to look at the "advanced" point-and-shoot cameras. They're usually in between point-and-shoots and DSLRs with manual settings, a smaller sensor and a lens you won't be able to change. For night/low light shots all you need is a slow shutter speed. I don't know if advanced point-and-shoots let you play around with aperture settings.

SoSpectacular Posted February 20, 2011 Share #650 Posted February 20, 2011 Experiment with different modes for different times of day, close up is for close-up shots of objects
