I see 8571 still hanging in there, but by now I think it should be retired. I have a feeling some Orion V CNG's will run a little bit in January due to the hurricane.

 

 

#8571 has been active for a while.

They aren't going anywhere for awhile, even with the option orderd New Flyers, you have about 14 Orion V CNG's doing shuttle work until ether it opens or CP get extra Buses (RTS, more New Flyer C40's(i doubt that would happen since no depot would want to give up their newer buses) or Orion VII CNG's (doubt that would happen as well),

 

Even with the new buses coming in, College point is still gonna have to keep those 14 Orion V CNG's for the A shuttle until full service is restored

They don't all those buses that are on the A shuttle are extra buses, those drivers that do the shuttle aren't doing overtime (a driver who was doing the A shuttle from college point told me that) CP needs all of its buses to make service, so even if they get the 53 C40LF's they are still going to need those extra buses regardless, they don't want to take a bus off of a run to do a shuttle, all of those CNG orion V's that are on the A shuttle will finish their life on there, those buses weren't from eastchester, they were buses that were gonna GO to eastchester scrap, but instead they are using them on the shuttle

Damn why is JG getting more buses when WF only have a small order? The only thing I can think about is WF recieving those Nova atric but other than that I dont know.

 

 

Gleason still has about 15 C40LF's to be retired. I don't think WF really has anything to replace either.

You completely missed what I was saying...

 

As it stands right now, CP has 46 Vs left...they are getting 53 C40s which is more than enough to push out all the Vs still hanging on there plus more for spares

Actually originally CP had about 52-53 Orion V CNG's that needed to be replaced so its the exact number being replace with no spares. The reason why there is 46 buses now is because the 600's are coming in.

JG has the oldest of the 07 CNGs. Unless you'd like WF to take on more of the older buses and give JG the newer O7s, then sending them some more of the newer C40lfs would be justified. Till then, this is fair for the average fleet age.

Trev, be sure to add 8902 into Flatbush's roster (from QV) - it's included in the 263 buses.

Though it's labeled as an out of service bus, it's still in our system.

 

It's currently in the maintenance bay, but yet to go into service though.

Yeah, those two units were brought back Monday morning (12:30am), escorted by an OG O7 from ENY.

 

Well, this is odd, why is ENY borrowing FB's buses? First the 2 NGs in the summer and now this? 8900? Lol, I give up on trying to make sense of these moves. Oh well, if it runs as good as 8912/8? did when it was here, then all the better.

It's a nice reversal since JG had a really old fleet age. With how several other depots now have the same buses, I just hope they don't rotate the buses around like the artics b/w Manhattan and the Bronx.

It seems that Jackie Gleason will only get new buses every decade our so. Last time they got new CNGs, it was about every 3 to 4 years (the Orion V CNGs were from 1994 and 1995, the original New Flyer C40LF CNGs were from 1998-1999, and 2000 and the Orion VII OG CNGs were from 2001 (#7560) and 2003 (thought Gleason did have a few 2004 Orion VII CNGs at on point).

Hmmm...4862 is in staten island Not In Service...idk why its there...

 

It went to castleton for work, buses get sent to other depots for work if they don't have the parts for it or if they can't do the job.

 

Lol I just figured out that the 4700-series D60s are gone again.

 

Yeah last one to go was 4708 from GH. 4705 is at eastchester everything out, #'s are written in sharpie markers.
