QM1to6Ave Posted January 4, 2011 Share #12 Posted January 4, 2011 Why wouldn't the ESA project get completed? Because nothing in the is definite until it is actually, physically completed (and anything that is actually completed, of course, is over budget and off schedule in my book). tvega961 Posted January 4, 2011 Share #13 Posted January 4, 2011 Im actually looking forward for this renovation, Yea people would be pissed, but its only till May. Its not like the Brighton linehere its been in rehab for almost 2 years now...Besides Smith-9 Street and 4 Avenue need renovation.
geoking66 Posted January 4, 2011 Share #14 Posted January 4, 2011 I really dispute that 575,000 number. I'm trying to figure out how the MTA can even figure out how may people use the when nearly its entire route is interlined and it's impossible to figure out a rider's destination. Shortline Bus Posted January 5, 2011 Share #15 Posted January 5, 2011 Much lower, given the number of half-empty trains I see on Queens Blvd. As usually Forest Glen making a false statement without facts and not replying when questioned about it. The does get to be SRO packed between Church Ave and Manhattan weekdays and often on weekends too as it is the main line for Park Slope. The good news is that finally after a long long time, the crappy Smith-9th and 4th Avenue stations are being rebulit.
PATCOman Posted January 5, 2011 Share #16 Posted January 5, 2011 He made that statement only because he is not happy that it uses 63 Street instead of 53 Street.
mrcrassic Posted January 5, 2011 Share #17 Posted January 5, 2011 F trains are usually really, really packed in the mornings in Queens and equally packed going to Brooklyn past 57th Street or so during night-time rush. So that statistic is pretty believable. The stations they're closing are really, really popular. I hope this is a late-night GO or something; people will be PISSED otherwise. Princelex Posted January 5, 2011 Share #22 Posted January 5, 2011 Well the work has got to be done and I'm glad it's happening. In the short term, it sucks but long term, and train riders will benefit from this.

Didn't you read the link? This is 24/7 and is a long range project. Folks want the work done, but "as long as it's being done when I'm not riding." It doesn't work that way. Q43LTD Posted January 5, 2011 Share #24 Posted January 5, 2011 F train service is bad Can you explain why? Anyway, I like how Mahattan-bound (F)'s are running express from Church to 7 Av and bypassing Smith-9 Sts but the stops there
R32 3348 Posted January 6, 2011 Share #25 Posted January 6, 2011 Can you explain why? Anyway, I like how Mahattan-bound (F)'s are running express from Church to 7 Av and bypassing Smith-9 Sts but the stops there The temporary platform at Smith - 9th Sts. is only long enough for trains to platform. The bridge spans (word choice?) are in the way at both ends of the station so the platform cannot be full-length.
