I never rode an Orion V CNG...lol

I also never rode a Orion V Ex Bee Line

I also never rode a New Flyer D60HF

And lastly i never rode a New Flyer XD60.

1st 2 you could have early in the year, if you rode the Q35 as often as I do (you could still find an ex Bee at least from what I remember early last month). Even last month a D60hf ran on it, but you can always head over to Manhattan on the M101 etc and catch them.

I haven't been on an XD60 yet either, but I might make a trip to the Bronx if I have the time, eventually.

DAFUQ happened in middle Staten Island today around 6-7 PM? S79 SBS (and far as I can tell, the X1) was FUBAR'd beyong belief. Forty-five minutes I waited for a damn bus. First a half-an-hour wait of nothing, then some showed up and didn't stop/let people on. At least one deadheaded empty to Brooklyn (late I guess), one was a "NEXT BUS PLEASE" sardine can, and one was either empty or packed "NEXT BUS PLEASE" that tried to drive behind an X1 so we wouldn't notice. The fourth one finally stopped.

Why bother to wait for it?  You could've taken the subway to the Ferry to the bus or better yet you could've swam to Staten Island.   <_< Us express bus riders don't need our buses after all.

Yep, you guys really don't after the (MTA) implemented SBS on the S79. It would be a much better use of resources to have 5 minute headways on the S79 and can all the express routes. Besides, no one can afford $12.00 round trip anyway.

[end sarcasm]

Honestly, what the f**k are you even talking about at this point? Seriously, I know you finally got a great chance to troll, but what was that even supposed to be? When have I said anything about the S79 SBS being bad? What does Staten Island have to do with express buses covering the (R) in Brooklyn when the (R) will still be running (but just require a transfer, THE HORROR). And what do express buses have to do with me going back to Brooklyn? If you're gonna troll, put in more effort than "OH YEAH THE S79 WAS LATE SO HOW DO YOU LIKE EXPRESS BUSES NOW?"

When did I say anything about the S79 and what does this have to do with the (R) train?  I just find it interesting how you can use express buses when they're convenient for you but no one else should want to use them for their commute if it makes their commute convenient.  I'm just calling out your hypocrisy.

Also interesting that you claim that you use the (R) yet you've mentioned having used the X28 before but the (R) is supposed to duplicate the X28 so much and be so much slower so then why use it??  <_<

I probably just missed whatever happened because I was on the S79 this afternoon at 5:45 from Yukon/Richmond to Brooklyn. Looks like I dodged something huge then.

I have literally zero clue as to what you are talking about this point. Seriously, you're trolling hard today. I give up. I'm a meanie and a bad man and hate express buses because they have cooties.

Of course you don't.  You have a foggy memory when you take the express bus but anytime someone else needs it you scream loudly that they should take the local bus to the subway.

You're making literally no sense. How is me rarely taking the express bus on my ride home (when I leave early and have two hours to spare) the same as you going (wherever you were going) and randomly getting on an X17 and then bitching it was hard to get to Coney Island? I don't take the express bus because I need to, but because I have extra hours to kill sleeping on the bus. It's not even an "alternative" so much as it its a waste of my time because I got time to waste. If I leave normal time I wouldn't dare be dumb enough to do the X1 to X28/38 thing. And if I lived along the (R) and needed Manhattan, I'd still take the damn (R) because I can transfer to any one of 300 lines to Manhattan. On a final note, Staten Island and Bay Ridge are entirely different. One has only the ferry or driving as an alternative to express bus, one has the (R) (and later, those spooky transfers) to get to Manhattan. I got no foggy memory, I just don't subscribe to your particular brand of bullshit.

You take the express bus to kill time? Nobody takes an express bus to kill time.  You've got it etched in your head that because you think that the subway is the greatest invention ever that everyone else must subscribe to your BS way of thinking.  Bay Ridge has one measley subway train which runs like sh*t, isn't ADA accessible in many stations in Bay Ridge and is only good for those who live near it.  By the time someone transfers from a local bus to the (R) you can already waste 30 minutes right there.  I know because I've done it. I've used another slow connection in the B16 to reach the (R).  You are in complete denial of the poor service that line provides because it's a subway line.  That doesn't mean jack sh*t.   I'm willing to be that it's ranked as one of the worst subway lines in the city.

Bay Ridge and Staten Island share quite a bit in common.  Bay Ridge is far out in Southern Brooklyn and residents face long commutes just like Staten Island.  As a South Brooklyn resident for over 15 years and a Staten Island resident for close to 10 years, most folks in South Brooklyn face a 45 - 60 minute commute and that's not including any local bus.  Having the express bus cuts down and transfers and allows Bay Ridge residents a piece of mind and shortens their commutes which you obviously don't care about because it's all about Culver and what works best for him.  Oh I use the subway so so should everyone else because that's what works for me.

I do take it to kill time. I sleep on it, which is simply easier to do than on the subway. So for me, that X1 to X28 ride is dicking around. To people in Staten Island, the X1 is important, and to the X28/38 regulars, that bus is important, and they use it. What's the problem? Still doesn't make any of the shit you wrote there make any more sense, or prove whatever point you're trying to prove. Bay Ridge has a subway line to Manhattan, Staten Island doesn't. They have dick in common. The express buses as is provide service where needed and when needed. It's not what works best for me, it's what works. The current set-up with the 27/37 and 28/38 works fine, as evidence by people taking those buses. And if people actually use the X28 on weekends (and not, you know, demand it and then drive anyways), weekend service could work. You like express buses and want them everywhere every 5 minutes, OK, and nobody gives a shit. That's life, deal with it, just as 99% of the people who take the (R) will just take a transfer at Atlantic or DeKalb or Jay without a second thought.

So what? That's like saying parts of the Bronx have the (2) and the (5) so therefore their transportation needs are met, even though apparently the (2) and the (5) run like sh*t, hence one reason the BxM11 runs parallel to the (2) but gets good usage.  Same thing with the (R). It runs like sh*t and that's why the X28 is needed because it provides a quick alternative and is used well.

What!?!? Send 1200-1289 back to Nova? Mann those are some of the best sounding buses in this system.

I would understand if they shifted those Novas if MTA gets more in the future...but nothing would ever return back to the company...especially if its been three years.

I agree too that the Xcelsiors have great AC
