This results in a loss of power from 125th to Wall Street. services are affected. A short time later, some vandals (The Conquestors made a comeback) who were playing around with the crossover South of 96th on 7th Ave place a rock in between the switch, jamming it. Lawrence St Posted February 16, 2017 Share #5607 Posted February 16, 2017 A severe budget crisis (similar to the one in 2010, but 50% worse), causes the MTA to make some difficult decisions on eliminating subway routes. CenSin Posted February 20, 2017 Share #5614 Posted February 20, 2017 An armed railfan terrorist organization (they are to rail infrastructure as eco-terrorism is to the environment) has occupied the Lexington Avenue tunnel at around 18 Street to do a quick and dirty job of restoring the station to its former glory with the help of black market construction contractors. Police are not sure if they can get rid of them since the terrorists have also threatened to destabilize the buildings above with bombs if they are interrupted or sabotaged. Experts fear that they may also target other such stations around the system and have decided to shut down those areas for quick sweeps. How is service rerouted in the short term (during the sweeps at 91 street, Worth Street, and possibly Myrtle Avenue)? How is service rerouted in the long term? 18 Street on the Lexington Avenue Line is occupied with armed terrorist guards patrolling the 14 Street–Union Square complex. Their footprint extends to 23 Street on the Lexington Avenue Line. Stations out of service and impassable include 14 Street–Union Square, 23 Street, 28 Street (due to proximity) and 33 Street (where agents are stationed awaiting an opportunity to strike).

Shut down the entire Lex Line south of 42 St. The provide alternate service in Brooklyn, runs in 2 sections, terminating northbound at 42 St. The is suspended in Lower Manhattan. The terminates southbound at 42 St. The is reduced to a shuttle to 180 St. The terminates southbound at 149 St with shuttle bus to 138 St. The terminates southbound at 137 St with shuttle bus to 125 St then 103 St. The terminate southbound at 110 St with shuttle bus to 125 St . As for Myrtle Avenue? No south of 34 St. in two sections. runs as shuttle, Pacific to CI via Montague. is suspended Meanwhile, I suspect a boatload of FBI, police, special tactical agents, and a bunch of characters more fitting for a James Patterson book would surround the scene to try to disarm these radical railfans. The investigative team puts Grant Avenue, Euclid Avenue, and Pitkin Yard on their list of facilities to sweep.

Anyway, next up: A sinkhole develops under the tracks at the Times Square station, completely closing the station. It's a small sinkhole, enough to close that station but NOT the 6th or 8th Avenue stations on 42nd Street. This will take a month to fix. Union Tpke Posted February 24, 2017 Share #5625 Posted February 24, 2017 Because, I too, think it’s a myth. I actually don't think it is a myth. I don't think that there is a fully unused station there, but I think that some sort of construction was done. I think that at most, part of a station shell was built. I think that construction started, and that because of problems with the high water table, work was stopped. However, I do believe tunnelrat and randyo. They know what they are talking about.
