gtNovaBusRTS9369 Posted November 7, 2011 Share #3 Posted November 7, 2011 Comments/Questions in Bold Just to compile the swaps that we're looking at in the borough, I'll try to update it as more information becomes available. Have to talk to my man at 100th, 'cos currently we're looking at more an educated rumor mill than anything. But here's what we've got: Route Changes - M34 +SBS begins (technically pre-pick) [officially confirmed] - M96 goes to 100th Street [waiting on full confirmation] ------------------rumor mill------------------------- Doesn't make sense that MHV will lose the M96 without anything in return, there's talk of the M106 going to Quill too so it remains a question as to what they'll take on. One rumor mentions the M60 coming back to MHV... Fleet Changes - 5063-5074 leave Quill for FB [partially occurred already] 5055-5062 are gone, this is the expected move No Comment - 3830-3839(?) go to Quill from Manhattanville [partially occurred already] 3830-3831 have been delivered already, and Flatbush is waiting on more Quill RTSes at the moment, with a rumor of 10 more buses on the way I'll assume this is to add more buses for the (M34) is these were to be SBS wrapped. - O7s go to 100th for M96 service [unconfirmed, but...] 6746 is at the depot for driver training, so O7s will become a part of the fleet, unknown as to whether they will come from Quill or MHV Inter-resting. 100st will finally a Non-Artic fleet if this was to happen. -----------------potentially--------------------------- - LFSAs will begin to arrive at Quill (approx. 36 buses), in theory in time for the Winter Pick (confirmed by Vintage Soul) Is there any chance these would bump either their 1998-1999 NF Artics or their of Hybrids. If so which one? -----------------rumor mill--------------------------- Nobody knows how many RTSes Quill will be keeping, but at the very least the 5202-5249 group will stay, along with 5075-5077 if the others go to FB. If this was to happen then should we expect most if not all RTS to be exclusively/restrained on (M66)/(M72)? Unless the ZF's from UP come in. The 126th 1000s may officially be killed, as WF will push buses around that eventually lead to the buses being scrapped (as they're expected to be soon). --- Thoughts! What've y'all been hearing and I'll try to update as I get more info as well, as usual the Pick is gonna be interesting.
FamousNYLover Posted November 7, 2011 Share #4 Posted November 7, 2011 I heard from both 126th St Depot and Manhattanville Depot, (M60)s going back to Manhattanville. Is that true?
T J Trainman Posted November 7, 2011 Share #5 Posted November 7, 2011 The M-60 from what I heard is staying at 126. Hence 1280-1285 being on the M-60.
Future ENY OP Posted November 7, 2011 Share #6 Posted November 7, 2011 Right now, this is how I see it. EDUCATED GUESS ONLY. This can be subject to change. MJQ TO FLATBUSH. 5063-5074 (definite to FB) 5055-5062 are in FB. 5013-5023 (possible to FB) UP TO MJQ 5078-5099 (definite to MJQ) 5100-5124 (Possible to MJQ) *But definite staying at UP. MTV TO MJQ 3833-3849 or 3858 IN REPLACE FOR 3800-3829 FOR SBS SERVICE. Yes, lets not even start with MTA bus. These swaps are going to be sooo confusing I wonder how we all will be keeping tabs. This is going to be a rough fall/winter with all new buses + swaps.

This is going to be a rough fall/winter with all new buses + swaps. It look more in more like #5077-5124 maybe heading sumwhere else. It seem RTS are being phased out MAN. Why send more Nova to MJQ when there send Novas out. I don't see the point in FLA have so many 1999 Novas. U going to have to replace a lot of buses at once the same goes with CS with those V's. This is going to be a rough fall/winter with all new buses + swaps. First off, the NovaBus RTS-06 #5078-5124 would be transferred TOGETHER. I don't see the MTA (AGAIN) splitting up the ZFers like they did back in 2000 (#5075-5099 to UP and #5100-5124 to FB. Eventually they all wound up at FB). The NovaBus RTS-06 #5000s would wind up at FB. I see MORE NGs from Manhattanville heading to MJQ (as what you stated) BUT not for the S.B.S. service. Unless the MTA changed their minds...again, #3800-3829 would be the ONLY buses wrapped up for the M34/M34A S.B.S. as the service would remain the same. #3831-3849 (if that was to occur) would be for replacing the NovaBus RTS-06 #5000s. Also to keep in mind that MORE artics and slated for MJQ sometime soon. Just a hunch on my end.

princejv26 Posted November 9, 2011 Share #11 Posted November 9, 2011 I checked the board at MTV and there is no M96 crosstown, all runs are going to 100th Depot, most of the drivers holding those runs left to go there
Acela Express Posted November 9, 2011 Share #12 Posted November 9, 2011 - 5063-5074 leave Quill for FB [partially occurred already] 5055-5062 are gone, this is the expected move I work at Flatbush and have no idea about incoming moves as of yet. lol But, from your stated theory, if that is true, then I'm guessing this will push the '96 RTS' out of the depot and to MTA Bus, or scrap, perhaps. As much as I love driving the 5000 series, especially the ones stationed at my depot, I'd hate to see the '96 RTS' departure. I'd have to say that #9078, by far, if the best bus for operation and handling. Very sweet.
Q43LTD Posted November 9, 2011 Share #13 Posted November 9, 2011 Dumb question: when was the last time 100 St had 40-footers in regular service?
The TransitMan Posted November 9, 2011 Share #14 Posted November 9, 2011 Dumb question: when was the last time 100 St had 40-footers in regular service? When 100th St closed for rehab back in 1998. Also, that marked the opening of the West Side Depot (MIchael J. Quill). The ENTIRE 100th St roster was shipped to MJQ. When 100th St reopened in 2003, New Flyer D60HF #1000s and #5511-5599 series went there. There are pictures of #5593 on the M101. Also, when 100th St closed, the following was re-located: M79, M86, M102 - MJQ (In 2000, M79 and M86 became artic routes while at Quill) M101 and M103 - MV M35 - 126th St M96 and M106 - I'm going to say MJQ but I get the feeling those two routes went to MV instead. Hope that helps!

The TransitMan Posted November 10, 2011 Share #19 Posted November 10, 2011 Bronx Div., Hale had the M1, M4 (split), M7, Bx19, Bx21, and Bx33; Amsterdam had the M100, M104, Bx6, and Bx15. Also during the morning rush hours, Amsterdam would operate the M101 to E 23rd St. I remember when Amsterdam went ALL Orion and they would show up on Lexington Av while I was at Baurch College. Gotham Bus Co. Posted November 11, 2011 Share #24 Posted November 11, 2011 Interlined? You mean it's gonna go artic? No. It means that a run might work on the M96/106 (standard bus) for its first half and the M101/102/103 (articulated bus) for its second half. Mysterious2train Posted November 11, 2011 Share #25 Posted November 11, 2011 No. It means that a run might work on the M96/106 (standard bus) for its first half and the M101/102/103 (articulated bus) for its second half. I believe he's actually referring to the M96 having to use artics to interline with the M86/M101/M102/M103, since they all use artics.
