When did nice change the n1 Saturday PM schedule so that the headways were every 40 minutes instead of 30 minute?

It was every 30 minutes here:

n70 NEW ROUTING effective Nov 4th, 2015 Smith Street, Farmingdale

Attention!

As of November 4th, the n70 will no longer travel eastbound on Smith Street in Farmingdale, due to construction. Buses instead will travel non stop from Farmingdale U up Broad Hallow Rd and Ruland Rd to Newsday.  Westbound travel from Newsday remains unchanged.

For EASTBOUND stops on Smith Street, please stay on the bus after Farmingdale University and travel to Newsday...you can then disembark at one of the WESTBOUND stops along Smith Road, as the bus makes a return trip to Hempstead.

Effective Tuesday, November 4th, n70 Melviille-Newsday bus will be rerouted from Smith St to Rustland Place. n70 Hempstead continue to use Smith St.

Please see map file below for details, yellow shows eastbound routing to Newsday, and green shows westbound routing heading towards Hempstead.

It's going non-stop on detour route due to construction.

Yes, I know that, I read that.

Buses have a 40 minute layover, no way you're gonna tell me that that would save 20 minutes off the trip (because that would be an absurd lie).

Just saying, those bus have a long layover on the newsday side. Unless it gets rescheduled (which I would at least expect or hope happens), I would suggest to get off at SUNY Farmingdale or Newsday and walk.

Some runs even have meal breaks at Newsday. I suppose the passengers will have lunch with the driver. Did NICE think about this?

NICE has released the schedules on their website. The n20 and n21 finally got separate schedules. The n20Hicksville runs 30mins during weekdays and hourly on weekends while the n20Great Neck runs every 15-20minutes.

http://www.nicebus.com/Passenger-Information/Schedule-Changes.aspx

The split n20/n21 schedule is going to get confusing - Great Neck-Roslyn riders, of which there are many, now have to refer to two schedules back and forth.

So the n19 now is 60 minutes all day on weekdays except to Massapequa in the AM, and a small PM slot from Massapequa from 4:15-5:15 PM. However, the payback for the lost service is an extra n19 to Massapequa at night. Well, that's gonna suck big time, I don't think reducing the headway from 30 to 60 minutes is a good idea.

N20 riders, while the trip time will increase, will have two additional buses on Saturday night to Great Neck (last bus now at 11:00 PM instead of 9:14 PM). The n20L notices are still mentioned on the n21 schedule, go figure.

The Late morning n57 headway is being increased, so the span of service  has technically increased by 15 more minutes. There's 1 minute added time in the AM & PM times to make the loop.

n79 now has a 55-59 minute headway during midday periods.

There is also now no PDF system map. NICE is redirecting people to its interactive map (via Google). IDK if they will release a new map reflecting the service changes at all or not.

Those Great Neck-Roslyn riders will most likely end up taking the n20H since it will be much more frequent than the n21. The new n21 is scheduled to run 30 minutes on rush hours and hourly on midday and weekends. It gets a bit confusing since some AM n20H weekday trips run Great Neck-Roslyn.

The N21 apparently has an error on the schedule, in that buses are scheduled to go from Great Neck to Glen Cove ..... and then back to Glenwood Landing. And same for trips heading back to Great Neck (They start at Glenwood Landing, go to Glen Cove, and then go back to Great Neck).

Kind of reminds me of the S94 schedule in Montauk, except there's no reason for this because the "radius" of the loop in Glen Cove isn't that wide.

Well, of course, it's "more likely", because there's more n20H buses compared to n21 buses to split the load. But for those using the schedule, it should be a bit easier to get an idea of when the n21 will come compared to the n20H.

It's actually the timepoints in the wrong section. Based on the lettered timepoints on the map, they mixed it up on the schedule. So it will not double up at Glenwood Landing.

Some of you seem surprised at this mess that NICE has become... you shouldn't be.

Maybe 2016 will finally be the year they update their pdf map for the first time since 2012: http://nicebus.com/Maps-Schedules/System-Map-PDF.aspx

Certain Southbound n16's end at Oak Street and Westbury Blvd? Sounds like an error.

They have errors all over the place. It's going to suck for those n21 riders who don't catch on to the mistake at the Glen Cove timepoint (imagining arriving at the time designated, and it not show up, only for you to wait for the next bus for god knows how long, and the find out that the bus actually passes 12 minutes earlier than the time on the schedule). It's like they're purposely doing this in order to bring down ridership in any way they can, in order to justify them cutting it.

As for the n16, either they actually go on to HTC, or NICE is really trying to save money on DH (and bring down ridership on the route even more).

Yes, but that's with the current schedule. The new schedule that will take effect in 13 days states that those trips would instead terminate at Westbury Blvd/Oak Street

The new schedule and the old schedule for the n16 are the same. I think whoever made the n16's schedule just made an error.
