Mysterious2train Posted April 17, 2012 Share #104 Posted April 17, 2012 Apparently a stalled train this morning necessitated rerouting of service to 7th Av and shortening of service (I don't know the full story.) How fitting that today was the one time I took the instead of the .
NX Express Posted April 21, 2012 Share #105 Posted April 21, 2012 What's wrong with this picture? Due to track maintenance at the E 180th Street Station, please expect delays in downtown trains and train service in both directions at this time.
alejr88 Posted April 21, 2012 Share #106 Posted April 21, 2012 (edited) Isn't it that there's track maintenance at E 180 when it's probably north of the station? Edited April 21, 2012 by alejr88

Guest Lance Posted April 21, 2012 Share #108 Posted April 21, 2012 Well, since the was relegated to shuttle status today, that service advisory should be right. If the delay is on the southbound local track and the is using the southbound track while in shuttle operations, the downtown-bound trains will be affected. Also, since the is running at 30 minute intervals, any delay on the E 180 St-bound trains will thus affect the Dyre Avenue-bound trains.
pjbr40 Posted April 22, 2012 Share #109 Posted April 22, 2012 Due to a signal problem at the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue Station, downtown trains are terminating at the Bay Parkway Station on the line. For service between the Bay Parkway Station and the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue Station, customers are advised to transfer to a Coney Island-bound train at the Bay Parkway Station. Please expect delays in train service at this time. If train terminate at bay parkway, what happen to the riders on sea beach line? Couldn't they terminated at their own Bay Parkway or 86 street? No advice for people along the sea beach. I would be piss about this situation even tho this is temporary.

I wonder what serves the N/B Sea Beach if the turns at Bay Pkwy? Like most weekend unexpected signal/switch problems, they take a long time to resolve! 5 hours later, it's still ongoing. pjbr40 Posted April 23, 2012 Share #111 Posted April 23, 2012 Due to a train with mechanical problems at the 5th Avenue-59th Street Station, downtown and trains are running express from the 34th Street-Herald Square Station to the Canal Street Station. Please expect delays in , and service at this time. This does not make sense at all.
Guest Lance Posted April 23, 2012 Share #112 Posted April 23, 2012 @pj: The incident location was just changed to 34 St-Herald Sq. If I'm not mistaken, there was an earlier problem at 5 Av-59 St (about an hour ago as of this post), so that may have been the cause of confusion with the service advisories.

Guest Lance Posted April 29, 2012 Share #119 Posted April 29, 2012 Due to a rail condition at Whitlock Av, uptown trains are running express between 3 Av-138 St and Pelham Bay Park. Courtesy: MTA Service Advisories Seems a bit excessive, no? Are all the switches out of service this weekend or something? I don't see the need to shut down the entire northbound local track for an isolated incident.
