N6 Limited Posted March 24, 2014 Share #1912 Posted March 24, 2014 Service Change Posted: 03/24/2014 8:07AM Due to FDNY activity at Canal St, northbound trains are running local from Canal St to 34 St-Herald Sq. Allow additional travel time. does anyone understand this? Shouldn't it say prince street? It doesn't make sense unless the activity cause the switch to lock in place and make all northbound trains go local from the Bridge. Delays Posted: 03/24/2014 3:40PM Following an earlier incident at W 4 St-Washington Square, and train service has resumed with residual delays. There was a rail condition that had and trains running express.
Snowblock Posted March 24, 2014 Share #1913 Posted March 24, 2014 Also had the running local 145-59 to cover for the Service Change Posted: 03/24/2014 8:07AM Due to FDNY activity at Canal St, northbound trains are running local from Canal St to 34 St-Herald Sq. Allow additional travel time. does anyone understand this? Shouldn't it say prince street? The smoke condition was at 8 St. Also in today's news: mta.info's delay listings have mistakes in them more often than not. Despite outcry from local transit forums, it is not the end of the world and each one does not need to be analysed to death.
Lance Posted March 24, 2014 Share #1914 Posted March 24, 2014 But I demand accuracy in their service alert posts!!! Seriously though, as long as the service alerts clearly convey the current service without being word salad like they sometimes are, I really don't care if they have minor errors in them.

CenSin Posted March 31, 2014 Share #1921 Posted March 31, 2014 I looked through the service alerts history and found no mention of the problem -- only a mention of a "previous incident" and that normal service resumed. The MTA is terrible with status updates.
Lance Posted March 31, 2014 Share #1922 Posted March 31, 2014 (edited) It may not have been posted in the archives, but it was posted on the website and through the email system. It went something along the lines of: Due to a train with mechanical problems at Court St, there are no R trains between Atlantic Av and Court St. At least I think that's what came up on my iTrans notification.
