If the train is stuck, then yes - trains are not concerned with whether or not someone needs medical attention.

Service Change

There is no train service in either direction between 34 St-Hudson Yards and Times Sq-42 St.

 

Some Manhattan-bound trains will end at 74 St-Broadway or Queensboro Plaza. 

 

These service changes are because of because of switch problems at 34 St-Hudson Yards.

 

Expect delays in train service in both directions.

Northbound and trains are running express from Canal St to Times Sq-42 St because of signal problems at 49 St.

There is no train service in both directions between 57 St-7 Av and Astoria-Ditmars Blvd because of an investigation at Queensboro Plaza.

As an alternative, take Q66, Q69, Q100, Q101 and Q102 bus service stopping at nearby stations.

@ The first One:

and trains are not going express. That might have been the way it was earlier, but not now. Instead, trains are all on the local tracks delaying themselves. 

Instead of that, perhaps the and should have gone express instead, between Canal Street and 57 Street. This way, the does not have to merge with the later on after being delayed, and the can also avoid those delays. Yes, more merging exists, but it doesn't clog the local service along the Broadway Line. Especially considering the second service change, in which trains are running to 96 Street (despite not being mentioned), it would make stuff flow much easier.

trains stop at the upper-level platforms in both directions at Queensboro Plaza.

These service changes are in effect while our crews repair a rail condition at Queensboro Plaza.

These service changes are being made while our crews repair a rail condition at Queensboro Plaza.

For service between Queens and Manhattan, take (e) (f) train service.

 

This might end up impacting the AM rush if this problem persists for just the right amount of time.

Also, I really hate these new vague service alerts they send out now:

 

There is extremely limited service between Manhattan and Queens on the ,  and  lines because of a water condition between Queensboro Plaza and Lexington Av/59 St. We have crews on the scene now investigating the cause.

Well, the MTA doesn't bother post the changes, but here's what's happening: 

trains are running to 96 Street

trains are running via 63 Street. 

UPDATE 9:40 PM

Some trains are running on the from Atlantic to Rockefeller. Because of the service change this evening, these trains will have to run via 63 Street.

 

This is bad, because trains are now joining the in both directions from Roosevelt to Second Avenue, and it's backing up service a bit.

There is extremely limited service between Manhattan and Queens on the ,  and lines because of a burst pipe between Queensboro Plaza and Lexington Av/59 St.

 

See a station agent for a courtesy pass for continuing train or bus service. Consider using the , , , or lines until we can restore regular train service. 

What's not on the site:

trains are operating over the to 96th St. Some trains are operating via 63rd St, or ending at 96th St. trains are all over the dam place. Some  and trains are running local on QBL.

I've noticed very different service alert notices depending on the time of day. Sometimes you'll get the most verbose service alert known to man, while at other times, it seems like they're being charged by the letter, hence the extremely vague notices. I don't know if it's because the comms team is unaware of the situation as well, but regardless, consistency needs to be just as important as conveying the relevant information to riders.

I think they wait a couple of minutes to actually update the service change with what's happening cause they talk with dispatchers and such to have routes operate on another line, etc.

I wonder if it's actually switch problems ie problems with the trackage. The switch at 96th street is new.
