Even MORE CONFUSION With The D60HF Renumbering Debacle....

The LFSA's should of been numbered between 1000-1400. The MTA has plenty of numbers that they could of used.

That I'll agree with, I mean why take the time to renumber these old buses that are gonna be retired soon when there's plenty of numbers they can use for the new ones without having to renumber other buses?

So the Nova LFSs that were originally numbered 1290+ are now 5200 and 5300s.

The D60HFs that were 5200s are changing to 4700s

And now that theyve run out of numbers in the 4700 series theyre going back to 1300.

Wouldnt it have been easier to keep the Nova LFSA's with their original numbers and call it a day?

My head hurts from all the renumbering.

same here.

1200 and up is fine, the XD60s should've been left using the 1000-1199 range. For the 5000s, they should've kept to the original plan and renumbered the O5s to 9700s and continue into the 6000s range.

wouldve made too much sense, lol :sigh: This is why I hate the numbering system. If they had numbered their buses by companies instead of lumping everything under the 100-9999 range, we would not be having this issue.

At least one of the 1300's (there's 1300, 1301 and 1304 confirmed to be in storage as I haven't noticed more 1300's yet) was previously a 4700. If you look closely, 1304 in the second picture still has it's MJQ sticker, and the "1" on 1304 came from a modified 4 sticker.

Just straight ratchetness...

Aka straight ghettoness... I can never understand why they don't have the proper numbers to use to renumber the buses... It usually always looks like a cheap job done by some amateur.

They could not do this because at the time, there were some 1000s and 1100s D60HFs in service. Not to mention 1996 Orion V CNG #1400 (back when MTA Long Island Bus was around and the L10G CNGs were still in service).

Plus those five Designline Ecosavers from that ill-fated order.

It definitely looks like that came from a 4, so I tried to snoop around a little. The only 4700s MJQ got were 4707, 4708, and 4709. 4708 had these obvious crossbars that you could have seen and 4707 was missing a light on top, so neither of those. 4709 would be the only other 47xx bus, but that had the smaller NYCB sticker, which I guess could have been replaced, but I don't see why they'd take off the sticker and put on a new one. Maybe that's it though, who knows. Moral of story...I got nothing.
