ACEVE14 Posted February 21, 2014 Share #9 Posted February 21, 2014 How the hell did that happen? For a second there, I thought that the 34th St Station for the Line was gonna be called "34th St-Javits Center".

7LineFan Posted February 21, 2014 Share #11 Posted February 21, 2014 Consider that the signs they put up for Bloomberg's press conference inside the station said "34 Street - Hudson Yards" and that's probably why it's like that. It's nice that they did it in Aksidenz Grotesk to keep it looking consistent, if this isn't an original reading.
MHV9218 Posted February 22, 2014 Share #12 Posted February 22, 2014 That marks the first time in about 25 years that Akzidenz-Grotesk has been used for anything besides a bullet, very glad to see the return! Much more attractive font.

Vistausss Posted February 27, 2014 Share #17 Posted February 27, 2014 Nice. I wonder how long they plan to keep these R62As for after reading this... Well, IIRC, the R188s are delivered up till at least Q4 2015 so that means part of the R62s are gonna be around when the extension opens later this year... Much more attractive font. I agree. It's much better fit than the newer rollsigns on the 32s and 38s that looked completely out of place.
