jon2305 Posted December 31, 2015 Share #6001 Posted December 31, 2015 8 left 9 Daniel's correct. There's about (29) singles and (70) coupled 5-car sets.
Around the Horn Posted December 31, 2015 Share #6002 Posted December 31, 2015 So the train I took today (1786 IIRC) had the strip map applied over another black one(couldn't see the line number). Are they directly applying train maps over the ones without removing them?
Calvin Posted December 31, 2015 Share #6003 Posted December 31, 2015 9 Daniel's correct. There's about (29) singles and (70) coupled 5-car sets. (29 singles + 70 cars = 99 / 11 cars = 9 trains) You're right!.
VIP Posted December 31, 2015 Share #6004 Posted December 31, 2015 So the train I took today (1786 IIRC) had the strip map applied over another black one(couldn't see the line number). Are they directly applying train maps over the ones without removing them? yes they are. R62A 2111-2115 has them placed sloppily where you can see the white strip maps slightly ????????
Javier Posted December 31, 2015 Share #6005 Posted December 31, 2015 Well that's lazy of them... Another thing I've been noticing that a lot of the strip maps on the R62A's on the have gone missing. Does anyone know why?
jon2305 Posted December 31, 2015 Share #6006 Posted December 31, 2015 Hey who knows lol, maybe they'll bring back the yellow stickers and put them over the ugly former-Corona purple ones. Just a little humor .

Around the Horn Posted December 31, 2015 Share #6010 Posted December 31, 2015 if the MTA sold the old 2 and 5 strip maps they would get a good amount of money! I'd buy a train one but the train ones are so faded they're worthless...
P3F Posted December 31, 2015 Share #6011 Posted December 31, 2015 I'd buy a train one but the train ones are so faded they're worthless... Not all of them. Yes, some of the logos look like heirloom tomatoes, but the majority I've seen are fine.
MysteriousBtrain Posted January 1, 2016 Share #6012 Posted January 1, 2016 I'd buy a train one but the train ones are so faded they're worthless...The maps from one of the sets with the shortened announcements (6611-6615+6551-6555) are looking fine. And I think a little more than half of all maps should be in a fine condition too.
VIP Posted January 1, 2016 Share #6013 Posted January 1, 2016 Someone had a field day with R62A 2111-2115 and removed some strip maps leaving the map on or took both and maps
Around the Horn Posted January 1, 2016 Share #6014 Posted January 1, 2016 Someone had a field day with R62A 2111-2115 and removed some strip maps leaving the map on or took both and maps Or they could have just fallen off...The adhesive's lack of adhesive is appalling. Some train maps are already peeling off...

That's gonna bum me out if they're finally linking singles. At least those cars have got some interesting details on them.
jon2305 Posted January 1, 2016 Share #6019 Posted January 1, 2016 Speaking of which, haven't been on the since before thanksgiving, besides the 19xx singles any other 20xx or 21xx sets left with half cabs RFW?
MHV9218 Posted January 1, 2016 Share #6020 Posted January 1, 2016 Speaking of which, haven't been on the since before thanksgiving, besides the 19xx singles any other 20xx or 21xx sets left with half cabs RFW? A decent number of 20x1 and 20x6 cars still have RFWs. Not aware of any 20x5 or 20x0 cars that still have them. The 2100s are down to their last few, if any.

jon2305 Posted January 3, 2016 Share #6025 Posted January 3, 2016 No disrespect but that photo shouldn't have been posted on this thread since is R188 fleet related, sometimes R62A mentioned.
