The D60's are being prematurely scrapped. The buses have so much life left in them. What buses are left out of the 5510-5769 group?

There's still plenty of them in service, and some of the retired ones have been around for 15 years already (the same amount of time most of the 1000's lasted) It could be that the retired D60's (not including those that were in accidents) we're in bad condition for them to retire now.

All you have to do is to go to, and check for updates, on page 1 of this thread for scrapped buses of all models.

This is the time when the worst of the D60's, the shop queens, those with poor MDBF and high instances of road calls will be retired.  The good ones will be kept.  After all, they are about 15 years old .

As numbers are listed, are buses heading for scrap make their final runs from either the depot that they are transferred to or the depot where they were last assigned (no transferred)

Every situation is different. However, most all buses retire from the last depot they were assigned to. Not sure what you mean by the depot they were transferred to though. If an in-service bus is transferred to another depot then that means that's the depot it is now assigned to as the bus is still active. It doesn't really matter because it's all the same agency. Plus, not every case is the same.

How do you know which buses are scrapped? Like what are sources, cuz u report them rly fast.

His source is the MTA.

Everytime a bus is scrapped, is there a form they gotta fill out? Stating reasons for retirement?

Sometimes, but the status of the bus is logged in the system, and the GPS is deactivated. All of that is taken care of in the internal database. Paper forms arent really needed anymore. Each vehicle is logged into the internal database, and maintenance records will show the final disposition of any bus.
