The TransitMan Posted January 24, 2017 Author Share #881 Posted January 24, 2017 (edited) 4984 is retired. Bus had a fire I want to add a general statement: Any bus that happens to be in EC does NOT automatically mean that the unit in question is or will be retired as was said before. There are too many assumptions about being scrapped when they aren't or vice-versa. Current 1997-98 Novabus RTSs for STORAGE: 9350, 9383, 9440, 9448, 9451, 9457, 9465, 9468, 9476, 9526, 9540, 9587, 9667, 9672, 9675, 9677-9678, 9680, 9688, 9692. Anything else is scrap. Edited! Thank you to all! Edited January 24, 2017 by The TransitMan

Future ENY OP Posted January 24, 2017 Share #886 Posted January 24, 2017 How about we list the 97-98 RTS that are not oos and in service/storage? I'm very doubtful that the RTS Grand sent over to Flatbush will return back to service.

MegaBlueJayy Posted January 24, 2017 Share #888 Posted January 24, 2017 The RTSs are known for their durability, and I'm pretty sure there are a good number of drivers who like RTSs. I mean they do well in snow and other inclement weather conditions. Lastly i think if they were to retire all of them right now, there'd be quite a shortage

Rafa Posted February 1, 2017 Share #896 Posted February 1, 2017 about 1 in 100 driver will miss a rts. They were good buses 20 years ago but now they all need to be retired.
Around the Horn Posted February 1, 2017 Share #897 Posted February 1, 2017 about 1 in 100 driver will miss a rts. They were good buses 20 years ago but now they all need to be retired. Interesting take. Usually driver input is citing as the reason why RTS's are sticking around. I can't stand them personally.

Rob3737 Posted February 1, 2017 Share #899 Posted February 1, 2017 umm isn't this a scrapped list thread?... and no im not the only one who feels that way about RTS.. 80% operators dislike using them and I know for sure because majority operators and passengers complains about them.... you're wrong about 80% you probably have like 6 months on the jobbu
Around the Horn Posted February 1, 2017 Share #900 Posted February 1, 2017 You can't speak for all operators. @AroundTheHorn: What do you find distasteful about the RTS? Too many rides on the B1 and B64 with terrible suspensions and screeching brakes.
