So Gleason is now down to just 9829, 9843, and 9870?

Correct , the mechanics were driving 9843 around today , but none out of the 3 were in service @ all today .

There is no A/C issue. QV is sending their 6400s out for repaints and overhaul. Speaking of Hybrids, 3741 is at ECH scrap. It will not be repaired.

Of course 3741 will not be repaired , you thought it was going to be fixed?

Has nothing to do with the age of the bus but the registration time on the CNG tanks which can range anywhere from 12 to 15 years. It takes more to re-register the tanks than the bus is worth. The only time you do a re-cert is if A) You're doing a full rebuild of the bus or B) You're doing a repower of the bus...outside of that its not worth it. It's cheaper to just replace the bus,.

No wonder those 1995 Orion V CNG's got retired after 2 months of brig at CP.

MTA you always quit on trying to fix stuff like that but you can spends lots of money to put SBS on a 20-25 minute route M34/A. I mean they could of already did the B44 but they decide to waste money on a 20 minute ride.

The MTA is replacing both the C40LF's and the Orion V CNG's but some of these old buses need to stick around a little longer until the Orion 3G CNG's arrive. Since the authority has decided that CP and SC will get the new Orions, it probably makes sense to have them keep using the O5's they are familiar with than to move over the old C40LF's andf have to train the drivers and mechanics on a bus they would have only for a few months.

If SC and CP know how to use the new C40's they know how to use the old ones CP had 801 for about a year and SC had 915 and some others. If CP and SC didn't know how to use C40LF's then they would not be running them now.
