Don't put that on wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a fan site, and this is trivial infromation. It is meant to be an encyclopedia. I will revert these edits.

I understand, but that is not what wikipedia is for. Perhaps a Car Assignments matrix of some sort can be worked out by the Moderators.

Around the Horn Posted February 11, 2018 Share #5209 Posted February 11, 2018 A section on the front page that is edited by mods once a change is verified (by either photos or videos posted in this thread) could work... Kinda like the Bus Repaints thread
boweryboy Posted February 12, 2018 Share #5210 Posted February 12, 2018 Saw both R179s passing each other this morning at Kosciuszko Street, thing of beauty. Though we all got discharged at Lorimer Street just minutes later due to a mechanical failure. Fun morning. I did notice that the LCD is quite low-res. I wonder if it is the panel itself or the actual image fed to it.

The LCD screen on the 179 FINDs is larger than the 160 FINDs, but the TA never re-did the image resolutions for the 179 display, hence the blurriness.

In other news, here's my first clip of the 179s since they've passed acceptance testing. It's nice to see the lunars on the axles. I wonder if those R179s have either halogen or light-emitting diode headlighting. The headlights on these R179s have a warm amber glow, compared to the crisp, luminous headlights that I've seen on set 3010–3019 that appear to have a white hue.
RailRunRob Posted February 14, 2018 Share #5214 Posted February 14, 2018 Hearing that Kawasaki finally got there efWing (Carbon Fiber) trucks out of development. Also hearing that the MTA's going be testing them in the next few months. Wonder which car's they'll be testing these out on? R179? 160's?

LGA Link N Train Posted February 14, 2018 Share #5219 Posted February 14, 2018 I Caught both sets today This morning, 179 #3061-3058,3090-3093 rolled in as a but it was actually a . During the ride between Sutphin and 121, the train was like "This is, Kosciusko Street" later I heard the conductor say "What?" on the loudspeaker. Then by the time it reached 75 St-Elders lane, the announcements regained consciousness. After some time I got off Norwood and headed to school. On my way back from school. 179 #3069-3062 came along on the . The announcement was like, this is a Queens bound train. I was like ....what, but I didn't care too much cause I just wanted to head straight home
trainfan22 Posted February 17, 2018 Share #5220 Posted February 17, 2018 I noticed they fixed the FIND on the 179s, the screen isn't out of focus anymore. They buck a little on slick rails as I rode it while it was raining, the brakes was also giving off that burning rubber smell (Which isn't a bad thing, all trains do that when braked hard) I love that smell

Coney Island Av Posted February 24, 2018 Share #5224 Posted February 24, 2018 I left out a bit of info, because so many things are happening with the R179s! Anyways... 3094-3097 are also doing burn-in testing on the , and are stored at ENY instead of 207 St. This leaves 3082-3085 as the only set stored at 207 St, so if 3078-3081 or 3102-3105 get delivered, that set will follow suit to ENY or the Rockaways, respectively. In a few weeks, we will have three R179 4-car consists running on the . They are: 3058-3061, 3090-3093 3062-3065, 3066-3069 3086-3089, 3094-3097 If you're questioning my sources, here ya go: (NOT MY VIDEOS)
