6 Lexington Ave Posted April 7, 2013 Share #953 Posted April 7, 2013 (edited) The countdown clock problem was only part of the issue today. I was at Buhre on the around 11a.m. They displayed that the train schedule was not available. Then there was an announcement that because of a power failure at the RCC there were delays and then another one saying there was no service whatsoever. I walked to Pelham Bay only to be told by an employee that there was no service on any of the numbered lines. Horrible communication!! And website only displayed signal problems on the ... RtrainBlues Posted April 7, 2013 Share #957 Posted April 7, 2013 Would have been helpful to know there were 20+ minute headways on the #1 train in both directions at Times Square today so I could have taken an alternate route. The #2 and #3 could have run local to supplement the #1 train. No countdown clocks were working, no announcements were made, people just kept waiting and waiting and waiting. Better communication and increased headways would have been much appreciated.

BTW, 1 trains were discharging at 34 Street on the express track and 2 ad 3 trains were running local to 14 Street, beyond which local track power was cut. Daniel The Cool Posted April 12, 2013 Share #962 Posted April 12, 2013 Yep There was switch problems At Canal Street and 59th Street-Columbus Circle at the same time (Heading Northbound) during the PM Rush Hours which caused Uptown Trains To Run Express From Canal Street To 168th Street with Uptown Trains local from 59th Street To 145th Street. It was chaos.

BM5 via Woodhaven Posted April 13, 2013 Share #967 Posted April 13, 2013 No service between Howard Bch and Rockaway Blvd for 4 hours now. I wonder what is going on with the shuttle bus... That's a bitch when you are going to the Shuttle Bus. You'd have to take the hourly Q11 to Howard Beach JFK, then go around fare control and ask to be taken for the shuttle bus, which sucks because the line divides the two areas in half without underpasses. That's a PITA, that's happened to me once when there wasn't any to Howard Beach (on 20 minute headways).

BM5 via Woodhaven Posted April 13, 2013 Share #970 Posted April 13, 2013 That explains the ridership drop then LOL. What do you mean, the Q11 has always been half hourly (hourly on the branches) ever since MTA Bus came in fruition. Most of the drop was because of riders shifting unto the Q21 because they're always schediled to come together on saturdays northbound.
